This article is about Shiva presents " 20 Years of House (1989-2009) Part 2 @ Babalou (formerly The Bug Bar) in London (UK), Sun 03 May
This May, Shiva present the second part of their trilogy celebrating 20 Years of House. This unique set of parties has set tongues wagging, pulses racing and encouraged memories to come flooding back. That's what it's all about. Reliving those halcyon days of clubbing, feeling the rush of energy flow through the fingertips during 'that' moment of 'that' song and sensing the feeling of utter unity and complete harmony on the dancefloor. The classics. The anthems. The tunes. It's May, it's Bank Holiday and it's time to go back to the old-skool.....
April saw the fantastic fun and frolics of our Second Birthday with Grant Nelson celebrating 20 Years of House Music. As expected the music, literally, made hairs stand on end as we journeyed through all the classic tunes of years gone by and experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. That journey didn’t stop there and continues on as we enter Babalou on Bank Holiday Sunday May the 3rd for our second instalment of Shiva’s very own history lesson in house music.
With Grant Nelson stepping down from the hallowed Shiva decks we’ve bought in another headliner well-versed in house music to you a lesson in history you won’t forget.
Sorry, did we say history? Please excuse us, we ACTUALLY meant Kisstory. The main man in the cavernous Crypt for Shiva will be KISS FM’s hottest DJ, Steve Smart.
Steve Smart is one of the fastest-growing names in dance music and radio, presenting the big start to the KISS weekend with Friday Night Kiss, Saturday Night Floorfillers and his classics show, Kisstory on Sunday nights. 2009 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Steve as he takes on a residency at London’s superclub, Pacha, continues to tour internationally, remixes for Hed Kandi and gets back into the studio with partner-in-crime, Danny Dove for further imminent releases.
The music that Steve plays is also a reflection of his ability to foresee future dancefloor hits. Past artists that Steve has exclusively aired on radio include first plays from Axwell, David Guetta, Shapeshifters and Seamus Haji – all the songs went on to become big-hitters.
But it’s his ability to dig out those forgotten gems and lost classics, which is why he’s with us for Shiva. A chance for us all to hear Mr Smart’s unique own blend of Kisstory classics and relive those haze-filled days of old. Maybe we’ll witness the sight of a glowstick perhaps.....??? Steady on, that wasn’t a euphemism.....
Completing the line-up will be Shiva’s head honcho, Liam D, Freedom2Dance’s Rob Blake, Steve Feelgood, Steve Butcher, Giro and Shiva resident, Jordan Brown – all ready and primed to take you on a trip down memory lane.
Let's go back.....
