Nice way to be remembered...
Earlier this year clubland lost one of its greatest clubbers to tragedy and in honour of his memory friends of Chris Egan, fondly known as "Spud", organised this night as a fund-raising event.

What a night! It was not a "rammed like sardines" affair, but enough of a turn-out to make it worthwhile. By the time I got there with my hubby (11ish), the DnB selections had already kicked in. Demolition Crew were doing just that - mashing up da place! The crowd were definitely "up for it" and Darren J gave it to them. But the DJ for the night probably has to go to Devious D...and how his name suits him! lol His opening tracks were a little wobbly at first, but when he warmed up you could only but step back and watch him go, or in my (and most of the crowd's) case, remember what my feet were made for...DANCING! As for them Emcees... where do I begin? Makkie, Cutter, NRG, Melo D where the heck they get their energy from only them and their "herb doctors" know lol. They instinctively knew how to raise the crowd and mellow us out and help add to a great night. Brilliant!

We left, due to prior engagements, shortly after Viper & Lady MJ started their set which looked to promise more driving beats & thumping basslines into our bodies. My body had already been severely & exquisitely pounded for the past few hours by some righteous old school DnB/Jungle classics.

Many of the DSI crew were there and all of them were perfect angels of good manners and bon homie and made this old minger & her hubby feel soooo at home lol. Thanks guys - stay beautiful always, will always love you for that.

Chris was definitely represented by those who loved him most last night and I'm pretty sure his spirit was rocking away inside there with us laughing and saluting us as we saluted him. Wherever you are Spud, R.I.P. mate.
