Shake, Rattle & Bowl takes place at Bloomsbury Bowlingis a unique venue, as it combines 50's retro themed bowling lanes with a nice big dancefloor, karaoke booths, table football, pool and even a free cinema for you to enjoy and experience in the same night! Bowling is available on a first come, first served basis, and you can also book the karaoke rooms for you and your friends to have your own little private party.
Dollyrocker (Buttoned Down Disco) will be DJing all night, playing the cream of 50's and 60's Rock N Roll, Soul, Motown, Girl Groups, Freakbeat, Psychedelia and Ska, plus modern day interpretations of that sound. To build a picture of the kind of thing you might hear, think Beatles, Sonics, Kinks, Stones, Aretha Franklin, Shirley Ellis, through to modern influenced bands such as Vincent Vincent & The Villians, The Pipettes, The Horrors to Sonic Youth to Le Tigre, plus plenty of Northern Soul originals of well known songs and stuff that just generally makes you want to dance!
This week, we're also giving out special Shake, Rattle & Bowl badges for the early birds, so please try and arrive early! The party starts at 9.00pm and goes on until 3.00am, with entry being £5 with an invite, or £6 without. Bloomsbury Bowling is located in the centre of town, with nearest tubes Russell Square and Euston being just a short walk away, and plenty of night buses running from nearby Holborn. All drinks are reasonably priced and there will also be White Russian son sale at £3 all night long!
