Music : Hip Hop and Funk
This year the UK B-Boy Championships weekend is split over two different venues with the prelims at Ocean (in Hackney) on Saturday 13 October and the finals at the Brixton Academy (in Brixton!) on Sunday 14 October. The Sunday event starts at 6pm and is hosted as usual by the legendary Crazy Legs and Afrika Islam. World-class competitors will be battling it out in the b-boy crew, b-boy solo, locking pairs and popping solo championships. The b-boy crew competition has eight crews from around the world, including Pokemon from France, Soul Mavericks from the UK and Mortal Combat from Japan. The line-up for the solo contest includes Hong 10 from Korea plus Lilou and Junior from France. The event also features a beatbox battle, Crazy Legs' fresh dress awards and a 1990's challenge. Tickets are available for one or both days from Ticketweb (here): Saturday £15.50 / Sunday £18.50 / both days £30.00
