The Telegraph (London) Q & A session

1) Tell us about the Telegraph and what your plans are for the venue?

The Telegraph has been a part of the clubbing scene for the past 6-7 years and formerly known as a destinated venue. We have taken it over with the intention of continuing its good name and adding our own experience and style. Our plans for the venue is to put on some excellent club nights and some live gigs which should ensure we don't not get stuck with an ordinary club venue label. Brixton is a vibrant area now with many good things happening on all music fronts and we intend to play an integral part in this future

2) The Telegraph has had some stop starts with its opening this year what happened and is it ready now?

The stop starts were more due to roofing problems which delayed the interior design and general building program. We also did not want to cut any corners and anyone who sees the venue know I am sure will agree it was worth the wait.

3) What are the opening times and daily plans?

The Lounge Bar will be open 7 days per week 5pm til late and the club for special events at the weekends with live acts during the week. We will be serving food as well (details to follow shortly)

4) Based on your experience what are you trying to avoid in a very difficult and ever changing London Scene?

Negativity and arseholes

5) You are the original promoter of Sunny-side up and I hear that there is a re-union forthcoming is this true?

Yes this is true and will take place at the Telegraph later in the summer.

6) How will the smoking ban affect the venue??

We are lucky as we have an outside area which smokers can use and falls within the specification of the new law.

7) How is the opening night looking?

It’s looking great. We have a strong diverse line-up which will hopefully epitomise what we are about and where we are heading. We have DJ’s like Nippa Downey, we got Joe Driscoll and 8 Fold to name a few. The 1st part of the evening will be mainly for industry and the party side will start at 9pm
