This article is about DOPAMINE @ Brixton Telegraph in London (UK), Sat 29 Sep 2007
Ive watched you shoot up through the ranks in little less than a year how it feeling right now?
I cant describe in words how good it feels right now. We've just held 2 sucessfull Precious People parties at The Cross & Pacha respectively & are getting booked by some fantastic nights, Bedrock @ Heaven being the standout booking in the coming weeks. No one could have predicted how quickly our name has grown the last 12 months, it's going from strength to strength.
what prompted you and alex to link up ?
Alex & I have known each other for about 11 years & in 2005 we met up in Ibiza. We had such a laugh together & as I was already DJing a few times a month I suggested that he come & play with me back 2 back. At first he just didnt get why I wanted him to, but now I think it's safe to say that he commends my vision.
London knows about you and alex very well but whats your plans for getting about the rest of the UK and any thoughts on going stateside?
We've been concentrating on becoming more widespread & recently we've played in Norwich, Brighton & Kent & have a new residency in the midlands launching soon. As for oversea's we've already had some experience, with myself playing in Ibiza this summer & in Miami at the WMC. Alex has been doing a few bits in cyprus this year aswell & next year we have a few bookings in the pipeline for both Miami & Ibiza.
I keep hearing rumours about a possible record release any truth in that?
If we could actually get in the studio! We've been so busy lately with DJing & promoting the Precious People & Ferris parties, but hopefully we can actually find a decent studio (which isnt eay I tell you!) with a decent engineer & start working on some productions. We've got some great ideas just is so annoying not to be able to put them down!
On a musical tip do you think people are tiring of electro? and wheres it moving to ?
I would say the the electro sound is becomming saturated, every tom, dick & harry is playing it. It's what funky house was in 2004, commercial. There's just not enough good releases in my eyes. Last year was amazing for electro, mainly thanks to Angello, Ingrosso, Axwell, Prydz, D Ramirez & Martjin Ten Velden. Now they are all concentrating on different sounds & electro is suffering. We've always been versatile & would never have said that we just play electro. Over recent months Ive been playing alot more progressive & Alex has been getting into Tech house more. We love Minimal aswell, but there is a time & a place for it & as we mainly play peaktime we dont get to play it as much as we'd like.
whats your worst and best moment in clubland?
Worst moment, not being able to share last NYE with my special someone. Best moment, last NYE @ Pacha or playing the set of my life @ The Cross for Precious People.
Any shout you would like to put out ?
All my friends, all the promoters that book us, everyone that supports us & of course, big love to Weenie. Thanks Jeff. You can next catch the NONSTOP HEROES @ THE TELEGRAPH SAT 29TH SEPT
