A special night 'Just 4 Mick'
DJ Justmick is currently fighting for his life after recently being diagnosed with lung cancer. A true veteran of the house scene, Mick was heard all over the airwaves in the past and will always be remembered for his catchphrase 'Locked in, Locked on'.

On a more personal note, Mick & I joined Passion fm back in '01 bringing with us the sounds of house music. We used to roll out the beats through friday & saturday nights, until the sun came up! We were in our element, introducing new sounds to London & beyond.

Anyone that knows DJ Justmick personally, will know what a strong determined character he is... and we can only hope that his strength of character will get him through this difficult time.

Apart from his love of house music & DJing, Mick is a real family man - lovely wife Kathy, his daughters Evie, Amy & Natalie, and son James (DJ Censor) are all going through this together.

Last night at Canvas, Passion fm & Peppermint Parties came together to put on a benefit night for Mick & the family, raising funds to help ease the pressure.

From the moment I arrived at Canvas, the love in that place hit hard. Mick's wife Kathy was there, as was family and old & new friends - sharing a night that was so special. All the DJ's involved played for the love, and hands were raised and the place was jumping. What sticks out the most though, was the sheer emotion that flowed around the club, and the good vibes from everyone there.

Special thanks have to go out to DJ Phillgood

and DJ Fingers,

who both put in the hard work to make sure this event went off so well, all for the love of DJ Justmick. Also, to all the DJ's who created the amazing vibes on the floors - I personally loved every moment of the back to back set I did with DJ Huckleberry Finn, something we haven't done in a while!

Many thanks to everyone that contributed to the auctions - I heard that some football shirts raised a lot of money. Also, there will be an auction on EBay very soon for a signed 'blotter art' donated by Monkey (Paul Guest). One signed by Howard Marks (Mr Nice), one from Fatboy Slim, and a unique once in a lifetime auction of a smiley faced 'blotter art' signed by the Passion fm DJ's. All monies raised will go to Mick & the family. More information on this will be released on my website very soon.

If you would like to make a donation, there's a link from my website. Please get in touch if you have any difficulties.

Last but by no means least - thankyou to everybody that came down to show the love for DJ Justmick, we love you for that! More than you'll ever know! x

I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing DJ Justmick, a full & speedy recovery - our thoughts are with you and we're all rooting for you!

Thank you everyone who showed their faces and to all the DJ's who supported this great cause.

I will get all signed blotter art on Ebay soon. Whatever the sheets sell for on Ebay I will donate that amount. I will pay all the Ebay/Paypal/postage costs.
