Q-BERT@CARGO- You'll be sorry if you missed this!
I have to admit that I wasn’t even too sure who Q-BERT was before tonight!!! When a friend told me about this night and badgered me into coming along I wasn’t too sure about it especially as my brother keeps telling me ‘scratching is soooooo 90’s….. but it was amazing!!!!

Rolling stone magazine describes this man as being easily the most talented scratch dj of all time, and I would have to say that I agree! Cargo was absolutely jam packed full of people, so much so that it was impossible to move in the third arch!! It was great to see such a mix of people at this night, from those who were obviously truly hip hop fans queuing at the door waiting for things to kick off to the guys in their suits lounging on the sofas.

The warm up dj was pretty amazing himself – sorry guys, not sure of his name, would be grateful if someone would tell me as he played a terrific set!!! And then came the man himself. The big screens at the venue, meant that even those of us who were struggling to see the stage could see what was going on. And oh my god! That man moves his hands so fast I would swear he must be superhuman! Everyone there really seemed to appreciate his talent, some people were even trying to dance, but there really wasn’t much space!!!

I had to feel sorry for the DJ after Q-BERT who himself was amazing, but the crowd sort of disappeared when QBERT finished. QBERT hung around for ages signing things for people and it seemed to be a bit of a bundle really! I hadn’t taken anything with me for him to sign… after all before tonight I wasn’t a particular fan. But a quick flash of a DSI card, and he gave me a signed t-shirt!!!! So, I have to say that all in all I am now a big fan!!

If you ever get the opportunity to see this man, I would really advise you to do it. He uses the deck like it’s an instrument, and even if you think you don’t like scratching, I would challenge you not to be blown away by this mans talent!

P.S guys, although I was TRYING to do some ‘spotting’ at this night it was pretty much impossible as it was so busy. Sorry guys but the crowd shots will not be uploaded as they are too dark.
