This article is about Intel DJ VJ Laptop Battle 2007 @ Cargo in London (UK), Wed 27 Jun 2007
Intel Core 2 Duo have teamed up with Cargo and organised a one-off event aimed at introducing the unsigned raw talent that we know are out there to the world.
We're looking for 4 laptop DJ's and 4 VJ's to play alongside some world-class hands at a unique event at one of London's finest clubs.
All you need to do is submit an example of your work (click here for formats) - Your work will then be judged by a team of audio/visual experts and the best two will be asked to join us on the 27th June at Cargo, and you'll be given a brand new Intel powered laptop to perform with.
The VJ content will be automatically added to this website and soundtracked by an exclusive A-Skillz track, so even if you don't win it's a fantastic way of showcasing your stuff!

A-SKILLZ "As a touring DJ my laptop has been an absolute godsend! I can create and re-edit music on planes trains and hotel rooms, then play the tracks (as well as anything in my iTunes library) in a club the same night on real piece of vinyl with out having to carry a bag of heavy records around! As well of course as always having my emails, diary, documents (basically anything I need) to hand at any time."
YODA "These days my laptop is my new record box. In fact it's also my new diary, photo book, record shelves, and about ten billion other things too. But for live performance, it's allowing me a whole new level of creativity."
BOPA "My work would be much harder without my laptops. I use two when I perform. Thanks to them I can be much more mobile and take on bigger challenges on an international level."
VJ ANYONE "I've been delivering live visuals for 10 years now, and so far I've always preferred using laptops for their portability and versatility. Specialised hardware used to be better at specific things like real-time 3d rendering or adding effects on live video streams but now as they become evermore powerful, they take an even more central place in my work."
