Intel DJ VJ Battle (What a Tech Fest!)

This article is about Intel DJ VJ Laptop Battle 2007 @ Cargo in London (UK), Wed 27 Jun 2007

Greetings Peoplettes

I just thought I would pop a little thanks you up to all of you who made it down to Cargo last night.

Loutastic, Miss TNT, Mr PitchInvader, JoJo, Francesco, Papa Ibsy... and a few more but I a shit with names :0p

If you didn't know, I was lucky to be representing Celsius DJs in the final of the Intel Laptop DJ/VJ Battle (Just another string to our bow - lol), and being in the final was just awesome.

Unfortunately I didn't win but as my dear sweet mum says "it's the taking part young Flea!" - cos she calls me Flea you know. Mind you some people said I was robbed but in the spirit of fairness we all deserved to win... Mind you my VJ partner did win his side and i like to think my music adding that little extra to his superb visuals (one without the other is nothing at all) ;0p

The evening was really well run and put together by the wonderful Higher Status Events and I want to say a massive thank you to Yasmin, Mark and MessyKT and all the other helping - Slick, Professional and Fun!

The format was four finalist from both the DJ and VJ world, with each DJ paired with a VJ and both given 30mins to rock to block and soak some sock!

So, after i'd picked the winner (The Guy Before Me) from the side of the stage, I went on about 10.30pm and sweated and jumped and gernally enjoyed myself.

Jay Cunning was comparing the evening and gave it a slighty crazy eyed side with his regular jokes about smoothe switches between Geek Feast Centrals like myself...

Mostly, the DJs used Serato but ever looking to be the Black Sheep of the Tech Family we pulled out Ableton and shown our corner well

Despite not winning I totally enjoyed it and feel really naughty as it was a school night... making it so much better...

I will be making the set available for download for those who missed it :0) and those who want it again.

So, if you feel you missed out then why not come on down to The Prince in Brixton this week were Mr Pitch and I will be gracing those Hallowed CDJs of Mini-da-minx's night a funk fueled breaks.

So as the Game Show Host Would Say... "Come on DOWN!"
