except the HTIDers - they count down up to a year in advance - normally bubbleing to the point of uncontrolable excitement about a month before the weekender - then when they go, they sit in their chalet all weekend in a k-hole and miss everything, but still say what a great time they had.

i openly admit to going to hardcore events, and i have been to the hardcore weekender - this is how i know.

my reasons for going to hardcore events were as follows -

my friends are hardcore dj's/mc's and i was supporting them

i went to an htid event during the whole "cancelled" saga to ge the words "HTID is cancelled" up on the text screens - i did, i am told there were pictures, i have had a hard time trying to track them down.

heckling mc storm is always fun

nope - lol diferent time

once at hidden a bunch of sweaty topless chavs tried to start something - i wandered off with the girl i was with cos i was steaming and couldnt see

another was a girl came up to me in swindon and asked if i was "vince from team cunt" at the time i had not heard of vince or team cunt and ironicly prompted this and other pictures

looking back on it now - the people holding the vince signs knew more about it than i did.

Didn't go to Twisted Audio as my company couldn't make it in the end.

Well, I'm gonna be honest with you guys: I'm dissapointed. Last time was so much better! First I lost my presale so I had to shell out 20 quids to get in :-(. Then I noticed that they put themselves in the small room, took away all the decoration and the lighting leaving us with the bare minimum. There wasn't that euphoric vibe that was present at the first Shake it! People already knew the concept, the location, etc.

Layo & Bushwacka somewhat kept things interesting by adding a live touch with Bushwacka's Maschine but the fact that Traktor was doing all the work kinda put me off. Mixing was sometimes a bit sloppy and they pretty much threw in every track like it wasn't going to matter how they were going to mix it in. Bushwacka's live drumming was nice but the drum samples were overcompressed (yes the sound engineer in me is bitchin').

Layo however was much more interesting to witness than Bushwacka. He played all the interesting tracks I picked out while Bushwacka was pretty much boring me out although his unreleased track is sick!

Glad I got to see Vickie, Amanda and Dave while I was heading out. Got out early cuz of a mad headache, sore feet (been walking all day), and beer soaked clothes. Walked all the way to Ghost and said to myself "fuck this I'm tired" so I slowly headed to Gatwick, fell asleep in the tube as usual, watched the Wimbledon final at the airport and went home.

Coming back for SW4 but I won't be heading to the Shake it! Stage...

Will post bits of tracklist soon.
