Mutiny Interview ahead of Futurism launch

Misbehaving Miami boat parties, mad Ibiza sessions and crazy UK gigs… Brixton boys Dylan Barnes and Rob Davy have been causing mayhem - by making and playing music together - as Mutiny since 1996. Their sonically diverse releases and jackin' party-wise DJ sets have earned them both critical acclaim and fans from around the globe - including Lottie, Sneak, Jon Carter, Darren Emerson, Steve Mac, Pete Tong, Yousef and many more.

Mutiny are all set to help launch Futurism at Club Warehouse on Friday 1st Feb, So we caught up with them to get the lowdown............

Tell us a bit about yourself?

What have you been up to recently DJ wise?

the last gig was a charity do i set up for aids..dj's where Steve mac..raymundo..mark knight..yos..p jackson.etc

Your playing at the launch of Futurism at Club Warehouse in North London, What can we expect?

people who know there shit..

What do you think of the UK scene right now and inparticular London after the closure of Kings Cross?

well when somthin departs there's always room for somthin more

Tell me abit about you Ministry of Sound Radio show?

the show is us playing music that we simlpy love without order all rule could techno, house some old rock shit, not just us informing you about the latest big tune just tune in and listen..

What do you use in your sets nowadays?

cd's but if there's somthin i've just bought and it's vinyl then so be it....
How do you think DJing will evolve technically over the next few years?
hopefully whatever the direction lets hope the music comes first and formost....

What DJs inspire you?

dj's that play the music and realise it's not just them in the room dj's that pay attention..

Any plans to produce some more records this year?

we have lots of music including a new project sign to southerfried called '' MYOMI'' whichou'll know about in the future,,,.,,,,,,,,, not to mention solo tracks from ourselve's and a new Mutiny album or 2

What`s the dodgiest situation you`ve been in playing out?

RUSSIA.

think it was a copy of Critical Beatdown by Ultramagnetic Mc's only because i scratch my brothers copy

How did you get into Dance music?

was producing music for groups lke Geneside 2 ands remixin and just wonted to experiment…. So put loads of ideas together and a mutual friend of Dyl’s put us together……

i'd have a proper job

What does the future hold for you?

Well where producing and writing at all levels so the exspansion of that and of cause more work and grey hair

Your TOP 3 Bangers for the dancefloor?

“Specialised” Mutiny V Shinichi Osawa a new tracks wchich is bangin the floors of Japan…Sisyphos by D I M crazy looney off the wall banger and so many others as too many to mention
