On the 20th December, London’s Corsica Studios will play host to a very special event. In association with Time Out’s 40th Anniversary and their ‘Future Five’ feature, two of London’s most forward thinking dance music promotional forces (Chew The Fat! & Trouble Vision) have teamed up to bring something very special to the Christmas party schedule of 2008: Presenting BIG FAT TROUBLE.

Chew The Fat! has been running for eleven years, (seven of which have been spent at the infamous End Club,) and have consistently broken musical boundaries across the dance music spectrum. Conversely Trouble Vision, (run in house by Corsica Studios) has been running a matter of months, but have already established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, on the London clubbing scene, programming ground breaking and innovative lineups, they have gained the support of the music press and have established a loyal fan base.

So, BIG FAT TROUBLE, is the product of the infusion of these two promotional forces when they put their heads together. A musically diverse platform showcasing the most innovative talents within the house, electro, dubstep and bassline scenes.

Topping the bill we are proud to welcome Josh ‘Herve’ Harvey. Herve has been a hugely influential DJ producer over the last few years, defining a forward thinking strain of house music influenced by hip hop, house, crunk, garage, rave and so much more. With remixes under his belt for The Chemical Brothers, New Young Pony Club and Bloc Party to name a few, his own imprint ‘Cheap Thrills,’ and an album on the way (coming out on Domino with production partner Sinden,) this man means business.

Providing support in Room 1 is Trevor Loveys. Famed for his jackin’ audio qualities and productions with the likes of Herve, Sinden and Switch (who he was previously 50% of) Trevor has had a good year with acclaimed remixes of Krack & Smack, Mujava and Evil 9 to name a few.

Chew The Fat’s house come electro peddlers Hijack and Disco of Doom (aka Tom Reel and The Rogue Element) round things off in room one with further hefty support from Trouble Vision residents Solid Gold & Park Ranger and Oli DAB & Robin.

In Room 2 we warmly welcome Zomby to the top of the bill. He’ll be bringing his unique strain of electronic-jungglist-rave-dub to the bass box that is Corsica’s Room 2. With releases on Hyperdub and Ramp and big props from the likes of Diplo, Erol Alkan and Skream. 2009 is set to be a big year for the man hotly tipped to follow in the footsteps of Flying Lotus.

Backing him up, Boy 8-Bit will be taking to the decks. Fresh off a lengthy tour with Mad Decent throughout the US and Europe we welcome him back to the capital for a rare London DJ set.

Reso and High Rankin supply the finishing touches to a room that’ll truly rattle your ribs. Having just been signed to Ninja Tune, High Rankin is tipped to be one of the big names of 2009 and the same can be said about Reso. Their productions are bass-tastic experiments encompassing elements of Techno, Dubstep Jungle and everything in between….not for the faint hearted shall we say.

Last but not least, Room 3 sees the return of the famed and irresistibly fun silent disco. Pick between 2 different DJs by flicking a switch on the supplied headsets and dance the night away to no-nonsense party tunes and sing (preferably badly) until your heart’s content.
