door. Presents // Never Grow Up - Coops' Birthday Bash

OK, so if you’ve been with us for a while you will be starting to understand what we here at door. are all about. Only recommending parties which have had enough blood, sweat and tears put in to be worthy of your hard earned cash – strictly reviewing nights not only on music selection, but on atmosphere, sound and venue, it’s the total package we are after for you guys. Whether that be DnB or dubstep, techno, house or breaks, we don’t want sell out clubs with people trying to look cool.. we want a room full of party heads enjoying a well planned session of quality underground music.

Well, now it’s time to show you for real how we think a party should go down, as we are proud to announce that door.s very first bash is GO GO GO!
‘Never Grow Up’ is not only in celebration of my 24th anniversary of life, but a celebration for all of those good souls amongst you who will never let the party scene die. Always remembering that first night out and grabbing hold of those feelings to make sure every weekend is as enjoyable as that first enlightenment.
And we have one serious line up planned for you all, taking you through all that is good about underground music in the UK - Bass, beats and breaks galore – there’s something for everyone and some more!
Arranging a stonker of a set list, we have pulled in DJ’s from some of door.s favourite parties for a banging night of cross-genre magic. We’re going to be taking over Clerkenwells’ Cosmobar till the early hours, which is ideally located up the road from the historical Turnmills site. Cosmobar’s basement is perfect for the shenanigans planned – gorgeous cocktails, comfy plush seating, loud speakers and importantly a dark and debauched dance floor.

So onto this stonking line up I was talking about…

Starting the night in the right way we will be showcasing our very own door resident Paul TJ - who plys his trade through a mix of electro, house and breaks, and has been successfully rocking parties in London for sometime now. Recently smashing Clapham’s Whitehouse to smithereens he will be on the electro ting right from the beginning so worth getting down early for his 'straight into the party' set.

Onto a special one! A set by a mix of DJ’s from door. favourites Social – originally started in a cocktail bar in Soho with the sole purpose of having fun on a Friday night, Social have moved on to host a number of warehouse parties and cool collaborations. They are planning an exclusive back-to-back-to-back set of eclectic ear carnage, so expect your eardrums to be assaulted by everything from electro to trip-hop, bigbeat to ska while these boys show us how fun genre hopping and dropping can be.

Next up, London legends – two of Illicit Audio; Lofty and Mike Mackeeg. These lads have been good friends of mine for a while, and I have enjoyed seeing their rise to house fame through consistent party shocking sets, cutting through the boundaries of modern house music - blending together all the best bits to create a sound like no other, their total house view means they are influenced by the whole spectrum of 4 to the floor business. Leading us into the diiiirtier half of the night they will be delivering the very best of techno and jackin smackin beats. Whatever these dudes play they are meteoric, and they will be the perfect blend as we start to tread on the darker side of things…

Following on from the Illicit boys will be possibly my favourite DJ in London at the moment - The gorgeously talented bundle of energy which is, Supatronix queen of breakbeat - Missmax, who will be seriously enjoying herself behind the decks as she oozes style and lays out substance; her breaks - tough, her tune selection - relentless.. the dance floor will be manic, and I can’t wait!!! A real dream come true for Max to be rocking our first party – this will be a set to be savoured.

And if this wasn’t enough… I am proud to be presenting some of my oldest personal buds who are still doing their thing up in Brum; DJ Freefall and MC Skywalker from Skeptic. Who were both taken to their very first jungle rave by the birthday boy himself over 7yrs ago and have not stopped loving and adding to the scene ever since. Taking over clubs like the formidable custard factory and shaking the hell out of the party collective they have gone from strength to strength and do not look like slowing down anytime soon! Under strict instructions for my ‘Birthday icing on the cake’. Expect Freefall to lay down jungle classics muddled with DnB belters taking you back, way back and the terrifyingly talented Skywalker complimenting with his explicit spits of rhythm and rhyme. – these boys are going to rock the roof off the joint till well into the early hours!

And the best news of all… All this fun is to be had for FREE!! Zilch, Nadda, Absolutly Nothing! All we ask is you bring a smile to the door. and your welcome to join us downstairs at Cosmobar for a full night of good times and filthy beats..

You’ll be doing yourself a favour…

Let all your friends know this one’s going to be WILD!

FREE to all happy party people…
