Technikal has been part of Glow Ball since the start, word has spread and the party has grown, so on the run up to Glow Ball and Twists New Years Eve Party - Zero Nine, he kindly took some time out of the studio to answer a few of our questions to find out a bit more about the real Alf Bamford.

First off though, we wanted to see what he thought of the event, why it’s grown so fast and where 2009 would take what has become London’s favourite cyber rave?

Technikal “It’s an exciting new fresh event, with consistently amazing line ups … and I still find it hard to believe the event is in its infancy. It’s ran by a crack team of professional promoters and attended by serious party heads. I haven’t seen a bad turn out at a Glow Ball event … and I’ve seen every single one! It’s so inspiring to see an event like this seemingly spring out of nowhere, especially in these troubled times, and it’s testament to the hard work put in by all involved.”

Ever Shoplifted/stolen: And what: I got into a habit when I was a teenager, of stealing CDs off the front of magazines. I had my technique down to a tee. I thought I was right bad ass. However, I stopped that once I stopped being a cheapskate. Other than that all I can remember stealing was a packet of Premier League 1995 stickers when I was a kid. It had the shiny sticker in it for Southampton FC which I was badly needing … so not a very good moral of a story there. Steal and you get what you want! Haha.

Ever been arrested and what for: Yes. When I was seventeen. I got caught in the city centre of Winchester on CCTV swinging a pair of foam coated training nun chucks around. My mate happened to have a baseball bat with him coated in red dye. It didn’t look great. I’d just bought the nun chucks, and my mate had been playing soft ball down the leisure centre… but he used the baseball bat as a prop the previous Halloween. Funny times.

How do you want to Die: In my sleep.

What do you want to be when you Grow Up: I’d like to be doing this until I’m inevitably too old to be flying around the world playing dance music to the youth of the day. I’d probably move into teaching what I knew about music production and the industry at that point. I’d find that really rewarding.

What country would you most like to Visit: I still haven’t been to the States and would love to go.

How would your mum/dad describe you: As their special little soldier.

How would your boyfriend/girlfriend/lover/ex lover describe: As a proper prat! Haha.

Favourite childhood memory: It’s amazing how little things take you back - like the taste of Skittles always take me back to when I was about five, eating them in the front garden at my Nan’s house.

What would be your ultimate/dream date: A night out with Girls Aloud, and a big ruck sack of toys and a hotel room.

What do you have for breakfast: Full English in bed with aforementioned Girls Aloud.

Who would you most like to cook you dinner: Hmmm, have you got the idea yet? Hahaha.

What do you wear to bed: Usually just boxers.

Number of CDs you own: Too many to even know where to begin.

Are you ever going to take a Glow Ball interview seriously again? I think I did fairly well! I held back on several occasions … but no probably not!
