seOne London to reopen as Debut in April

This article is about Debut (was SEOne) in London (UK)

London's biggest club, seOne London ceased trading on Monday last week. The owners blamed the recession telling Mixmag the club could not cover its overheads.

Now Mixmag has learned the venue will reopen on April 9 under new management and under a different name, Debut.

The club's PR told us the venue will have all new staff and a total refurbishment. "It will be much more of an event space and music venue rather than a club" they told us.

Yeah sure, because a big empty venue will really turn down offers from club promoters to fill it. We'll put money on a thumping four four beat coming out those doors again by May at the latest.

Probably be the same with MoS. "No it's not the same venue, we've added a pot plant!"

from what promoters have been told this will be a live music venue not a clubbing venue. So personally i do nt think we will be going back clubbing at the Seone or whatever it will be called again

Fro what has been said it will be ore like a rock and roll venue than a venue to go to an event at. Whic i personally think why advertsise the venue reopening n a clubbing site if you are not going tob allow clubbing events there.

Torture Garden (for one) have announced that they DO expect to carry on using it when it reopens, and they're certainly more clubby than live music.

I just hope they sort the bloody door out. Seone was a nightmare to get into - I even queued for ages when I went to the Crisis volunteers afterparty and that was A) free entry and B) for charity workers.

It is essentially a club night.

actually your rght,in one aspect it is a club night, it is a fetish club night but Torture garden is not like the "normal" club nights, Like Just the One??, Raindance, Breakin Science, Innovation, and thye other CLUB/RAVE nights that people used to go to seone for, Dance Aid, Way Back When, F*UK Me!, The SH*T Party, Promised land etc

yay! Glad TG will still be there, shame about the raves though :(
Dontstayin may be primarily a clubbin site but it does cater for rock n roll/fetish too so I can see why theyd post it on here even if there will be no more raves :(

i cant disagree with that, but to be honest they say they shut because they couldnt fill it every frday and saturday night, are they really gonna have live acts every friday and saturday night in there?? Look when they wanted to change koko and opera houe in a live act venue.
