Minimalism is a new night kicking off Easter bank holiday weekend on Thurs 20th March at Departure, Aldgate, London. Minimalism will be every month on a Friday night thereafter.
Minimalism will provide a very high quality production of dance music and visuals, with the focus each month on a live act – incorporating vocalists and live instruments, with a deep electronic vibe. The live act will play between 11pm–1am, then with DJs and VJs playing until 5am. The live acts will be carefully selected to ease people into the night with sets that build from deep and mellow through to dance floor pressure, in a way that will keep people thinking and open to inspiration.
Minimalism is a production that will allow young visual artists to showcase their work through film installations, the resident DJs [The Minimalists] to showcase brand new music, with the more commercial draw of a headlining live act early in the night.
The music will maintain a deep, soulful vibe of impeccable reputation. Drawing from Techno; Glitch, Deep House and Detroit, through to the heavy influences of Nu-Jazz and Ambient.
Minimalism will be a place for creatives, discerning dance music fans and those clued-up kids to meet on a Friday night, get drunk with some post-work drinks promotions, live music and kick off their weekend in style.
