“Big infectious electro rock in the Kasabian mould….Black Mariah are ones to watch…”
Virgin Radio’s Most Wanted show

In 2007, Black Mariah achieved their best result yet, when they were chosen from bands from across Europe to headline the FutureShock stage at this summers massive State of Exit Festival in Serbia, joining a line up that included the Beastie Boys, the Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers ( HYPERLINK "http://www.exitfest.org" www.exitfest.org).

However, results like these have been coming thick and fast since Black Mariah formed at the end of 2004. After honing their mixture of electro beats and dirty guitars they began cutting their teeth at some of London’s top venues, including the legendary 100 Club and the John Peel ‘Pride of London’ Tribute at Virgin Megastore, Oxford Street, earning themselves national press coverage in the process.

‘Black Mariah took over the Virgin Megastore’
The Independent

Described as 'sterling electro-rockers' by Artrocker Magazine and 'ones to watch’ by both Time Out and Virgin Radio, Black Mariah moved up another league in 2006, opening up for Mercury-prize nominees Turin Brakes at the Clapham Grand, renowned tequila abusers The Fun Lovin’ Criminals at a football stadium and Rick Buckler, legendary skinsman for The Jam at the Garage.

‘The forefront of up and coming British rock n roll.’
Southbender Student Magazine

July saw the launch of ‘Club Black Mariah’ the bands own regular night at Clockwork, Pentonville Road, and in October 06 the band launched their first single “22 Century Blues” on the HYPERLINK "http://www.msoundz.com" www.msoundz.com (official sponsor NME and Q Magazine unsigned) chart, making the top ten. The band were subsequently featured in the NME in Oct 06 as the unsigned band of the month and Msoundz/VANS ‘ones to watch’. In 2007, things have gone international, with performances at the Berlin BleepFest 07, and now a head-to-head with the Beastie Boys…

About Viva City

"VIVA CITY....an über-cool four piece mashing d'n'b-flavoured electro-rock beats with alt-indie sounds. These post modern glam-punk upstarts craft raucous tunes that demand your attention. Produced by the legendary Kosheen DJs, Viva City have already made waves on Europe’s club scene as well as headlining London club nights.

With blazing support sets during 2007 for superstars Kosheen at London's Koko and Islington Academy, and in Newcastle for Boy Kill Boy, Viva City’s awesome performances have blown fans away with their audacious mix of genres, unique style and in-yer-face raw energy. An EP is in production and a major launch is planned for early 2008, Viva City are dangerously close to the big time...Prepare for the biggest indie/electro/rock headfcuk of all time."
