But Clive’s history in house goes back way further Circo Loco and even Peace Division. After a couple of years regularly attending London’s legendary Shoom, Spectrum and Queens, he started running and playing at his own successful parties called Gosh, which he co-promoted alongside Rocky (X-Press 2). Rocky's productions with x-press2 started to find great success and he was spending more time in the studio so one of Europe's infamous club promoters Charlie Chester stepped in to help! Clive and Rocky set up the Low Pressings label in 1996, which went on to become one of the most respected labels in the UK, with releases from H-Foundation, Def-E, Spacejunk and many more.

:Q: It seems in retrospect that your musical style has captured the zeitgeist of different musical trends that the underground has embraced over the past years. Is this coincidence or do you make a conscious effort to embrace new music?

:A: One reason why I love this scene so much is the fact that house is always evolving and every week there’s something that you hear that makes you think F**! I Wish I’d made that ! I think it was Dj Fergie that once said you don’t wear the same jeans everyday for the rest of your life and think this applies to my views of this music.

:Q: You are undeniably more qualified than most to comment on how house music has evolved since the early days of acid house, you have seen scenes and genres come and go. Have clubbers changed since the days of Shoom, what is the difference if any from the people you danced with at Spectrum to those you dance with at Circo Loco?

:A: I think the only difference from then to now is that back then I felt people were in a way making a statement or being rebellious to an extent. It felt like the youth or maybe society as a whole, were pissed off with what was going on politically (under Tory rule and poll tax riots etc) and this was one way of saying "Up yours!"

:Q: What was your first experience of Ibiza?

:A: It was asking for a taxi to take me to Cafe Del Mar (not realising it didn’t open at 1 o’clock in the arvo!) when I’d landed here for the first time and getting dropped off at the wasteland behind it thinking "what the f**k is this?" It wasn’t what I had envisaged of paradise! Ha ha.

:Q: Who is your favourite dj from back in the day?

:A: Andy Weatherall, Jeff Mills

:Q: Ok can you answer the question everybody wants answered, will Circo Loco be in Ibiza next summer?

:A: No I can’t answer that (well I just have but not the "Answer" u wanted!)

:Q: Why do you think the authorities have taken this stance against the Clubs?

:A: Because they haven’t got a clue when it comes to realising how good they've had it over the last 15-20 years. Taking away the things that make the island special will now only make it like any other Spanish/Mediterranean destination. Next summer is gonna hit em hard!
