Right at this precise moment in time, nothing quite exemplifies the concept ‘of the next big thing’ in house music better than the Live Tech Rebelz. This duo who’ve stampeded London Town all the way from the grassroots of South Africa and whose deep sexy grooves are preordained to inspire a whole new direction into dance music are about to take the underground dance scene by storm.
Heralding from Africa, where ‘music is expressed in most aspects of day-to-day life, from the moment the sun rises right until you rest your weary head’, it’s no surprise that Quintin Schlebusch and Floyd Lavine- the two halves that make up Live Tech Rebels, are bringing their passionate yet philosophical take on music to the dance floor- and believe you me, it’s passion, with a capital P that these boys have in spades!
Since meeting at Point Blank Studios, Floyd and Quintin have made it their personal mission to not only bring music to their audience, but to take them on a magical journey unlike any other. And so, with their common desire to turn the music industry upside down, the Live Tech Rebelz was born.
Live Tech Rebelz unique sound, described as having ‘an almost sinister undertone’, is achieved by incorporating a wide range of live elements- vocals, keyboards, guitars etc, and combining it with deep souled grooves and Afro Tech. The performance aspect of their set serves to further heighten the senses of its audience, thus creating a truly incredible experience which verges onto the ethereal. If you haven’t twigged already, let there be no doubt about it, we are dealing with Master Craftsmen who live and breathe music as if it where air. With their ability to set the body and soul on fire, it comes as little surprise they are now regulars alongside industry heavyweights such as A Guy Called Gerald, Mr C., Axwell, Sarah Main, Goldfish, Shane Watcha, R. Ramirez, Filth and Splendour, and Raymundo Rodriguez.
With The Live Tech Rebelz well and truly bordering on the cusp of greatness they have upped the ante with the debut of their own night which is set to bring all aspects of the aforementioned concepts behind their music neatly onto one rhythmic, pulsating dance floor. So watch this space closely ladies and gents, coz it won’t be long until these sexy African boys will be whisking you away far, far, away, peeling back the layers of your most rational expectations and into the beautiful maelstrom that is ‘Excuse the Mess’!
