MUAK welcome New York house legend Osunlade

Saturday 31st January sees Muak (People Together) return to London’s EGG Club for another night of deep house spills and thrills with the New York house legend Osunlade.

Continuing its mission to bring together the world’s foremost DJs, producers and musicians, this night is no exception as it welcomes Osunlade, the acclaimed DJ, producer and Yoruba priest, to perform an exclusive headline set.

Fans of deep, soulful house with a twist will know what to look forward to from Osunlade. Hailing from New York, Osunlade is a hero to fans of great house music and since starting out in the 1980s his productions have crossed over into the realms of broken beat, nu jazz and UK garage.

With a who’s who of fans and collaborators, including Quentin Harris, Francois Kervorkian, Joe Claussell, Louie Vega, Fela Kuti, Roy Ayres, Giles Peterson, Kenny Dope and Ross Allen, its Muak’s turn to welcome him to do what he does best – get the party started.

Taking place from 10.00pm to 6.00am, Muak (People Together) will bring together an awesome line up of DJs and musicians across five separate areas - each with their own range of musical styles and influences - including:

The Basement
The finest soulful, tribal house, hosted by Yoruba Records

- Osunlade (Yoruba Records)
- Matthew Bandy (Limestone)
- Kellilicious
- Miloe

The Terrace
Deep, tech house - Muak Music Style

- Zaki & Manish (Muak Music showcase)
- RyRalio DJs (RyRalio Records)
- Rob Chapman

The Loft
The future sound of house

- Kemistry - Soy Mustafa & Alex Celler (Buzzinfly/Nrk)
- Toni C
- Plastic Pippo

The Garden
Under the stars with the smoothest Latino house

- Cadatta (Muak Music)
- People Like Us
- Eightbitirate
- Dove

The Apothecary
Hosted by Soulogic & Soul City

- Hamish Dunn
- Dave Lynam
- Matty Archer
- Si Finnegan

With Muak’s last sell-out event at EGG proving that the real house sound is back in the heart of London’s clubland, expect another night of strutting to soulful house with a kicking edge.

As organiser Zaki Lais testifies: “Where others have flirted with the latest musical trends, we’ve stayed true to our first love - real house music.

“We can’t wait to get this party started and celebrate the start of 2009 with all the friends we’ve made along the way. See you on the dance floor.”

The first Muak event of 2009 takes place on Saturday 31st January from 10.00pm to 6.00am at EGG, 200 York Way, London N7 9AP (www.egglondon.net).

Admission 15.00 / Tickets £12
