BIO for TIMMY VEGAS
Timmy Vegas has been playing records as far back as he can remember. After spending some time writing for off broadway musicals in New York and soaking up the underground house scene throughout the mid 1980s, he returned to the UK in 1989 and embarked on a successful professional DJ career, playing for RAW and a number of other reputable clubs, both in his hometown Birmingham and throughout the UK.

Alongside friend and production partner Andy Ward as Soul Central, Timmy enjoyed his first UK Top 10 smash in 2004 in the form of "Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)" featuring vocal diva Kathy Brown. The track was the biggest at the annual Miami Winter Music Conference and went on to become an Ibiza anthem before storming into the UK Singles charts in early 2005 following its release on premier UK imprint Defected. The track also won an NMC award for more than 10000 UK radio plays and it remains a club favourite to this day.

Soul Central returned to the 2005 WMC with anoher dancefloor hit - "Need You Now" - which received support from the likes of Roger Sanchez, Danny Krivit, Tedd Patterson and Brian Tappert and went on to become another club anthem for Soul Central, even being used by the BBC during various televison events.

Timmy has had enjoyed a diverse musical career, even touring with Led Zeppelin rock legend Robert Plant; Timmy spent two years on the road with Plant playing electric piano, Hammond organ and guitar.

2006 has been Timmy's most successful year to date. He has released a steady stream of underground club hits, including the massive 2006 WMC and Ibiza anthem crossover smash 'Dutty Funk (We Can Do)' featuring the vocal talents of House Music's undisputed dive and worldwide star, Ms Barbara Tucker, with whom Timmy still produces wth. Other original productions and remixes for labels including Soul Heaven, Sandy Rivera's Blackwiz label, Joey Negro's Z Records and Seamus Haji's Soul Love have equally impressed, as is Timmy's work alongside House Music pioneers Tony Humphries and Frankie Knuckles. As Soul Central, Timmy an Andy Ward continue to sit at the forefront of the worldwide House scene, most recently completing a remix of 2006's biggest crossover hit and the UK #1, Fedde Le Grande's 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit'.

2009 is looking no less successful for Timmy Vegas; watch out for his brand new single yet again titled 'Time After Time', on Defected Records in early

Summer 2009. Catch him LIVE at Abstract Sat 9th May
