Wow. Well here we are 15th years on from our humble beginnings at what was then called Sankeys Soap in Manchester and we’re still happily mining the coal face of rave. So what better way to celebrate a bloody long time of party making than by throwing a party. A big one. With bells on. Many roomed. Baggy trousered. Time to practise your cartwheels kids – it’s the party of the year(s).

In the main room, behind the decks he played his six hour set at Easter, is Erol Alkan. Erol has been part of the family since 2001 and was our resident during our spell at The End until 2007 so we’re pleased he’s returned to helm this special night. Joining Erol is Justin Robertson who has been playing for Bugged Out from the get go. He was a resident at Sankeys from 1994 and then resided in the courtyard at Nation in Liverpool and mixed our first compilation in 2000 (listened to it last week – it’s still ace). Hannah Holland and MC Chickaboo will be bringing some of that Bastard Batty Bass magic and hirsute disco-tech beast - who records for DFA and with Disco Bloodbath - Ben Rymer will be warming things up. In the Ed Banger room (one of the most important labels of our lifetime) is the MD Busy P leading his squad which features Feadz, So Me and Breakbot. We’ve know Pedro since 1995 when he turned up at Sankeys in Manchester with a rising techno duo from Paris called Daft Punk… Over in the LED filled light-box room we have French boy wonder Brodinski who compiled our most recent Suck My Deck album and has since shaved his head and gone all bling! JoJo De Freq has been an important part of Bugged Out’s history, residing since 2003 and also recording Make Some Noise – one of our best record releases. Matt Walsh has been playing for us for a few years now and he’s been doing well with his Clouded Vision project and Wild Geese – Frank Tope and Dan Foat – who have recently remixed Friendly Fires and Metronomy to great effect, will be closing the room armed with an arsenal of techno and disco weapons past and present. As this is a birthday party we’ve also installed a special party room for lovers of our New Years Day shindigs with Dan from Disco Bloodbath, the R&B obsessed Work It DJ’s, Riotous Rockers and Johnno dishing out pop and disco.

This is all happening over four rooms at Fire where we held our New Years Eve party last year - it’s an incredible venue fitting for this special night. See you on the dancefloor(s).
