Banging!!
Best party i've been to in a LONG time...

It was so much fun dancing around in coats!

That venue is fantastic, we will definitely be going back.

Well done to all involved.

I can't get my head around that. FIVE? what if one of them.. or all of them had fallen over? What a mess!!

I'd be more concerned with accidentally sitting in or putting my hand in something - five people is a lot of mass for such a small space.

that maybe a record, I'll try to exceed it next time by taking the toilets away one by one. Musical shitters. Then we'll see who the hardcore ravers are...

Listen boss, I'm not slating the night/event. The music was great, the crowd were up for it, the venue staff/security were all on the ball and the brandy was cheap. Yes it was a little cold and I had to queue to take a piss, but it didn't impact the night massively, and certainly didn't stop me from having a quality night.

for sure. If you had any idea what it takes (and costs) to put on an event like that any criticism really hurts. When you are arguing with the police at one door and dealing with proper gangsters on the other and trying to stay smiley and stay cool for your set... well whines about toilets and temperature can grate. I was there too. I peed in the alley and was plenty warm in the middle of 800 dancers...

on a public forum it looks very negative when 800 (more like 1000 in and out) have a brilliant time but the main topic of reportage is negative.

In defense of my reaction here the months leading up and the volume of work and money involved is colossal and a bit of positivity would be ace. Don't get me wrong, constructive criticism is fine but we provided as many toilets as any club and the thing was a roaring success and this kind of puts the dampners on it a wee bit. Especially on a public forum.

we decided against the soon-to-be banned gas heaters which are ecologically the least energy efficient devices on the planet. It was chilly because it was a vast warehouse, spaces not designed to be heated (did you clock how high the vaulted roof was?) and no amount of heating would effect that other than lots off bodies. It's winter. Wear a coat or get on the dancefloor. Simple. Need a piss? queue exactly like you do in every nightclub or BONUS go to the alley.

I don't accept your criticisms mate, they don't apply to a rave. It's like moaning about sore feet in the army. It's a rave. If I was running a club I'd take your comments seriously. But not here.

Hope that clears it up.

I mean, Jesus. In 1989 we used to walk literally miles to find raves off any roads and there was nothing there but a soundsystem and strobelight. No bar. No bogs. No taxis. Nothing but music and ravers.

Best party of 07 and as one old to remember it was like a bloody 5 star hotel compared to a real rave up.

you kids don't know you are born.

Tim. You should be proud mate. I don't think these kids realise it costs you to put these things on. Ingrates ;)

And we had to dodge the police dogs. It was always a good idea to make sure you went out with a friend who was a slower runner than you!

Look boss, I was giving my opinion on something. As I said previously, a couple of personal gripes on my part about the temperature and my own bladder size didn't stop me from having one of the best nights of the year.

(As I've already stated above, I was full of brandy by the end of the thing and wasn't feeling the cold anyhow)

If you had any idea what it takes (and costs) to put on an event like that any criticism really hurts

Fair enough, I've not been involved with the running of a big event, so logistically and financially yes, I haven't got a clear picture of what it takes to put on.

But my previous comment still stands; whilst I had a few personal issues about things, it didn't stop me from having a quality night.

Surely with that many people in a cubical, it's impossible for them to fall over? What would have been good, would have been to tip it over with them all in it!

tip it over with them all in it!

They'd all be dancing in a crowd of one for the rest of the night

Yeah it REALLY pisses me off. I guarantee if we put heaters in we'd have someone moaning it was too hot. Meanwhile a shrubbery the size of Wales is burned into the atmosphere. In my house, much as I enjoy a roaring open fire, especially in the winter... well now I just put a jumper on. Central heating on very low. I mean fucking hell, am I the only one who actually does anything green?

What annoys me is it's on a public forum. I wouldn't mind if it was a PM as a constructive criticism. IF there were hosts of people agreeing I'd take it seriously but it just makes me think; what a bunch of pansies.

;)

i didn't go myself but if i was going to a night out in a car park in the winter i'd wrap up warm, or dance like a loon until i was warm!!

As I've already said;

Yes it was a little cold and I had to queue to take a piss, but it didn't impact the night massively, and certainly didn't stop me from having a quality night.

The emphasis here is that a good time was had regardless.

What annoys me is it's on a public forum. I wouldn't mind if it was a PM as a constructive criticism.

So, what you're saying is that you only want feedback on a public forum to be postive, and that all minor gripes should be kept out of sight.

I had a GOOD TIME. I can't stress that enough.

Yes, I was cold. I put on more layers and drank brandy until I wasn't.

Yes, I had to queue for the toilet. As the night progressed, I accepted that as well.

This isn't a massive slating of the night. Did I enjoy myself? Yes. Have I downloaded all the live sets that have been posted for later listening? Yes. Was it a nice change from the clean, queue free homogenised clubbing I'm used to? Yes. Will I be going to the next one? Yes.

:-D

not at present. Leeds is as bitchy and small as ibiza and I'm having a mare trying to find a venue. I'm doing the 4clubbers charity cancer thing on thurs 13th though.
