Frantic NYE - Thank You
Firstly a Big Thank you to all the DJs, Clubbers, and Staff who helped make Frantic NYE 2007 another great Hard House gathering…

When we decided to put Frantic on for NYE all the usual Frantic venues like the Fridge, Koko and the Academy were booked. We decided to look high and low for a different space that would allow us to book our favourite DJs and throw one unforgettable party!

After a long search we found a place full of character behind Liverpool St Station. We then worked for many weeks to design a look and feel that would make the place come alive.

When we started the build on Saturday the space was completely empty, so we had to bring in everything from the award winning Line Array Sound to the 40 Light Effects, the Seating, the Heating, the Toilets and all the staging…We actually had 12 people work all day on NYE to set things up.

While we have already had lots of positive comments about everything from the character of the old warehouse to Mark EG and Cally’s set there are 3 things we will improve for next time:

1) The Main Room opened late. Unfortunately the Sound Company were late arriving with the final part of the sound system and this meant that they didn’t complete the set up in time. We can only apologise and will ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

2) The Toilets. We did try and book the toilets you find in the VIP area at Global and other festivals but as we were late to decide on the gig all the suppliers of Toilets had already booked out this type of Toilet. We will ensure we get these flushing toilets with running water and basins next time.

3) The Cloakroom was too small. Next time we will increase the cloakroom capacity by at least 30%.

4) The Power Cuts in the Main Room. The Main Power Cut was caused when somebody went behind the barriers and pulled the plug out of the wall. Unfortunately as it was a large venue it took our electrician time to find that this was the problem and put the plug back in. We can only apologise that something so simple interrupted your NYE partying…

We would like to invite all who attended and the many who couldn’t to our annual FREE Payback Frantic vs Moondance Party at Hidden this Sat 5th Jan. Please email full names to willfrantic@yahoo.co.uk.

Finally we would like to offer the first 100 who go to www.ticketweb.co.uk on Monday 7th January £5 limited edition discount tickets for Timeless 6 on Sat 23rd Feb. Just use the promo code ThankU08.

too cold !

Lol it was hot in the crowd... or in coat lol, it was a warehouse, in Winter not a club =)

IMO they should be treated like Festivals,

Bag, change of clothes, Coat, Wet wipes, Alcohol hand gel, loo roll, mints, anti acids lol more stuff than a Womans handbag =D

I loved it anyway, nice to get back to the basics again, we have been pampered too long in pretty clubs and forgot where it all started =D

Roll on another Frantic @ the warehouse =D

We all been clubbing in fancy posh clubs, especially in London, far too long. Its about time we have more warehouse partys, more partys in fields and more random and wierd places. Clubbing in clubs is just boring now as everything is too pretty and shiny. If you want that go to an Electro night or Poncy Funky house. Hard music, raw clubs... How it should be!

I soon adapted as I've been to my share of festivals!

It's nice to have a change of scenery

Yeah Mark EG was definately the best set of the night for me aswell!

I think Proteus would have rivalled it though if it wasn't for the power going a few times during his set!

So you gonna go to the cloak room everytime you want to go to the toilet? clean your hands? Get your coat? Then after you finished with them go put them all back? Nah I had my bag with me all the time as I knew that I would need them. Same at festivals... Bag is always strapped to my back =) All my stuff was on me so I had no issue with the cloak room lol

I respect how Frantic has taken all the feedback from AWSum Night and Frantic NYE. I did enjoy those nights despite the snags with venue issues. The warehouse feel is something I had not yet experienced and there was definitely something to be gained from it. But the queueing and toilet issues did detract substantially from the full enjoyment as it took time away from partying and took my mind out of the hard dance fantasy world and back into a not-so-fun real world.
It wasn't on the same level as the great New Year's party I had at Genesis Jan 1, 06.

I guess I've become a creature of comfort when partying and don't want to worry about long cloak room queues or dodgy toilets when I'm partying my nut off. But the warehouse atmosphere was a cool new experience for me. I think if Frantic are up for another stab at a warehouse party, they'll make good on their word and rectify what they can.

The major non-music issues that can drag down an otherwise good night:
-Long queues
-Overcrowding
-Nasty toilets with no running water
-Poor smoking area (for those who smoke)

I think the experienced ravers in London have been to so many great events that they have high expectations that aren't easy to fill. Coming from Canada, I'd have been so grateful for some London-style hard dance events in Canada. Take what you can from each event and enjoy.

Timeless looks like a great lineup and I think it'll restore people's faith in Frantic.
