Frantic NYE - Thank You
Firstly a Big Thank you to all the DJs, Clubbers, and Staff who helped make Frantic NYE 2007 another great Hard House gathering…

When we decided to put Frantic on for NYE all the usual Frantic venues like the Fridge, Koko and the Academy were booked. We decided to look high and low for a different space that would allow us to book our favourite DJs and throw one unforgettable party!

After a long search we found a place full of character behind Liverpool St Station. We then worked for many weeks to design a look and feel that would make the place come alive.

When we started the build on Saturday the space was completely empty, so we had to bring in everything from the award winning Line Array Sound to the 40 Light Effects, the Seating, the Heating, the Toilets and all the staging…We actually had 12 people work all day on NYE to set things up.

While we have already had lots of positive comments about everything from the character of the old warehouse to Mark EG and Cally’s set there are 3 things we will improve for next time:

1) The Main Room opened late. Unfortunately the Sound Company were late arriving with the final part of the sound system and this meant that they didn’t complete the set up in time. We can only apologise and will ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

2) The Toilets. We did try and book the toilets you find in the VIP area at Global and other festivals but as we were late to decide on the gig all the suppliers of Toilets had already booked out this type of Toilet. We will ensure we get these flushing toilets with running water and basins next time.

3) The Cloakroom was too small. Next time we will increase the cloakroom capacity by at least 30%.

4) The Power Cuts in the Main Room. The Main Power Cut was caused when somebody went behind the barriers and pulled the plug out of the wall. Unfortunately as it was a large venue it took our electrician time to find that this was the problem and put the plug back in. We can only apologise that something so simple interrupted your NYE partying…

We would like to invite all who attended and the many who couldn’t to our annual FREE Payback Frantic vs Moondance Party at Hidden this Sat 5th Jan. Please email full names to willfrantic@yahoo.co.uk.

Finally we would like to offer the first 100 who go to www.ticketweb.co.uk on Monday 7th January £5 limited edition discount tickets for Timeless 6 on Sat 23rd Feb. Just use the promo code ThankU08.

hey smiffy .. thanks ... at least someone can see the truth that lies beneath... and that is that Frantic is money making machine ripping ravers off their hard earned money and good time !!!!

It's all about money for Frantic unfortunately... and whatever that naive little girl thinks doesn't matter she ain't got no idea about hard house what so ever or what is a good party !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so sorry not trying to offend anyone here but after being frantic/s customer for the last 3.5 years i think i know how their parties should be organized since they could do it at MORE in february 2005 and last night showed they just don't care anymore about raving, dj's, music or people like US !!!

well, i agree that it was a shocking night and no ammount of sugar coating can make me feel my time and money deserved to go to them. too many times in the recent past i have had appauling treatment at the hands of frantic and i am sick of it. excuse after excuse. i have been raving for 13 years and i have been to poorly organised parties, but frantic is the market leader and should have enough resourses to cope with problems that arise. i was appauled by alll the standards, all the pricing and venues. i knew of two people that paid £50 a piece after midnight to have the most appauling night in their words. i emplore evryone to join the anti-frantic group.

at least im happy! :D and im happy cuz instead of turning problems that can be solved into some kind of massive scary ones i enjoy the atmosphere and dance , dance my hardest to the loveliest tunes ever to be served!:) i always thought thats what hard dance parties were always about.. great atmosphere with great ppl stomping to great beats.. i might be wrong tho.. still I LOVE MY LIFE!! and those silly parties make me happy happy happy :)

the parties make u happy coz u munch on happy pills... maybe go out there one night straight and then tell me what do you realy think ! let me guess you've been raving for a year or so ??? it actually doesn't matter... it's nice to have an opinion but real opinion is the only one that counts there is no point covering frantic's back not just for this party but several parties that have gone horribly wrong over the last 2 years... which is enough time to iron out all the problems they've had!

but if you enjoy the type of parties frantic throws these days ... be my guest and keep paying for it they need people like you !

and it seems like they got you right where they want you !

great people stomp at great parties and i haven't seen anyone stomping at frantic's events lately ... so next time when you pay for your I love my life show at frantic venue ... just pull yourself out of your little world and look around !!!!!!!

even after having his set cut well short and being bandaged after an arm injury prior to the event, Proteus still took the honors for me, his dedication to his loyal fans and presence in the dj booth and the energetic music was just a privilege see and hear again, also i fort cally cage's set was pretty awesome 2, having said that i had a way better time at the frantic vs twist after party was banging right till the end

At least frantic have come forward with there mistakes and aim to not repeat that, but with wildchild they seem to make the same error's time after time after time and then still dont learn their lesson

Well what an evening firstly I arrived later than planned after midnight having had a lovely time on the tube! There were no queues at the door which was good, but you wouldn't expect that at that time in the evening.

I was surprised that the doorman collecting the tickets didn't actually tear off the secure piece and retain it, but instead wanted the whole ticket intact. Surely this defeats the whole object of tickets, in a venue where you're obviously obliged by law to keep a strict eye on numbers attending to avoid overcrowding. As someone has already said tickets were going for in excess of £45-55 out the front, surely this should have been stopped and I'm really not surprised if someone else paid again for my ticket and got seriously done over.

But what really dissapointed me was the lack of organisation with directions to the venue, there were no frantic sign posts, which would have helped alot of people in getting to the venue. After walking around for half an hour and being told by someone local that the map was all wrong, didn't give anyone much confidence.

Also surely if you're running an event on this scale you need to have everything organised and in place at least a day before hand to avoid delays with the sound system, the most important piece of any rave.

The little things like the decor which has always been a great thing at Frantic in the past were really quite basic and slap dash, a few plastic signs and not many of the signature ball virus drapes. Then the drinks lists were disintegrating, surely the intelligent thing would be to laminate them to help them survive the evening.

Once inside though the lighting, strobes and especially the lasers were really superb and definately the saving grace along with Adam Lab 4, Cally Gage and the very late appearing, power cutting, arm bandaged and distorted Proteus.

I do like Frantic's use of new dj talent and appreciate the use of the main residents, but for a new years eve it would have been nice to see the original hard house masters BK, Andy Farley and maybe even Nick Sentience down there, instead of some of the others on offer in room 2, who apart from Caz Wood didn't really do anything for me.

To be honest I didn't notice the lack of basins in the toilets, as there was no lighting in them! So I could have pissed myself completely, but surely thats a major health and safety issue and is a legal requirement for any venue, whether its a short term licence or whatever. God help the poor sole who has to clean them later on!

On another health and safety note there were no clear fire exits marked, yet another legal requirement overlooked.

In contrast I found the heating to be ok, but didn't notice any heaters either inside or in the smoking areas, which to me sounds like blatent lying. One moment we're buying them in, the next they are being hired then theres none at all!
This wasn't such a big issue for me as I had a few layers on that couldn't be deposited in the somewhat overcrowded cloakroom. Also the "friendly chap" on the desk sounded like he was gonna be on a stealing mission as he said plainly to me "if you put that in here its gone" ! ;)

What really riled me was the lack of any announcement during the power cut episodes.
Also I feel an MC even if they were just announcing the djs and bringing in the new year would have added to the overall atmosphere.

Why did the lights come on so early in the main room, when the advertised time on the ticket was til 6am? Surely this means both rooms should still be in operation.
I do understand the need to get people out in a safe manner, which was probably why this occured.
Why not shut down the 2nd room, with that god damn aweful hardstyle, which there was no need for at a Frantic event. Or end one room at 6am as advertised then keep the other room going for half hour to clear the crowds.

This definately isn't in the spirit of Frantic, I remember the Camden Palace when the music went on for an extra hour and that wasn't even on New Years Eve.

On leaving the venue we saw someone who was in obvious need of medical assistance and in all honesty an ambulance. Luckily the security were on the scene quickly and all I can hope is that the person concerned is ok.

On a positive note the bars were trouble free, quick service and not too bad prices for a NYE in the capital. Drinks tokens weren't such a bad nightmare as at the millenium dome for NYE 2000 when I can remember queueing for ages.

However I have been attending Frantic for over 4 years and have seen some really wkd parties at the Camden Palace, The Egg and other London venues and I just think this didn't really stand up to the brand's reputation as one of the best hard house not "hard dance" nights in London Town.

I feel the amount probably made on this event didn't really represent value for money to the hard working raver and overall a bit of a disapointment and certaintly not the same atmosphere as the older Frantic events.

Yeah i agree Venue was ok, a few bits of decorations, toilets were absoultly disgusting, not enough toilets (and no toilet paper infact they were really bad). problems with the music. im sure there was heaters outside but didnt really make any difference. drinks not too bad but dont like the token system and you had to buy in strips of 10 or 20. And why was the lights put on at 5.15 when the rave finished at 6am!!! not sure it was worth the £30 i paid as it was just an ok night!!

What a DREADFUL night! Freezing cold, uneven floors to trip on - PITIFUL effort on toilets - too few, filthy, no lights in them and RANK within an hour. Drinks were a joke. Requiring £10 worth of tokens to be bought at a time to be spent on what? "Red Bull" was some knock-off, 'Fosters' the only beer, one cider- blerk!!! The 'decor' was a joke - for that price I'd have thought you could have tarted the place up a wee bit more than a couple of leaky inflatables and a meagre doese of lighting.
No-one stopping the smokers and reefers in the non-smoking areas - we were nearly pissed off enough to report you to the council and watch the fines get handed out.

I will never make the mistake of supporting Frantic again

I had a fantastic night at frantic, the venue was absolutely awesome, lots of character and something totally different ;) The obvious dissapointments were the power going off time and time again but this does happen with warehouse parties! maybe generators might be a good call as a back up if frantic put another warehouse party on... Highlights for me were james condon b2b elvis and whitby suprised me with a really good set, not usually my cup of tea but he pulled it out the bag! Steve o'brady played a wicked set too!

Happy new year

Not too impressed myself, I actually think it's illegal not to supply drinking water and against health and safety to not have somewhere to wash hands after using toilet, also lack of lighting. Staff were ignorant and rude, and I had a good night cos I was with my mates but I'm never stepping foot in that muddy, oily warehouse/car park/building site again.

all i can say is best set of the night was andy rise vs matt pick up

earlier than it should of! dissapointing

Venue space, great
Decor, seen better in a squat party
music, great
Power cut, why if the electrician found the problem of the plug being pulled out did it go off again and for so long?

Overall, great effort for djs. Good one carpark

FRANTIC what the fuck were you pissing about doing?

how long does it take you to stick a couple of crappy sofas in a corner?

the bars would have been private hire

the sound rig would have been put up by the suppliers same with the lighting

toilets not even going to go there.

it wouldnt have been hard to find more decent seating and perhaps with tables, and some backdrops and things to make the place better, you said you were turning the place into a one off club to beat the rest. what happened apart from a total lack of effort?
