Frantic NYE - Thank You
Firstly a Big Thank you to all the DJs, Clubbers, and Staff who helped make Frantic NYE 2007 another great Hard House gathering…

When we decided to put Frantic on for NYE all the usual Frantic venues like the Fridge, Koko and the Academy were booked. We decided to look high and low for a different space that would allow us to book our favourite DJs and throw one unforgettable party!

After a long search we found a place full of character behind Liverpool St Station. We then worked for many weeks to design a look and feel that would make the place come alive.

When we started the build on Saturday the space was completely empty, so we had to bring in everything from the award winning Line Array Sound to the 40 Light Effects, the Seating, the Heating, the Toilets and all the staging…We actually had 12 people work all day on NYE to set things up.

While we have already had lots of positive comments about everything from the character of the old warehouse to Mark EG and Cally’s set there are 3 things we will improve for next time:

1) The Main Room opened late. Unfortunately the Sound Company were late arriving with the final part of the sound system and this meant that they didn’t complete the set up in time. We can only apologise and will ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

2) The Toilets. We did try and book the toilets you find in the VIP area at Global and other festivals but as we were late to decide on the gig all the suppliers of Toilets had already booked out this type of Toilet. We will ensure we get these flushing toilets with running water and basins next time.

3) The Cloakroom was too small. Next time we will increase the cloakroom capacity by at least 30%.

4) The Power Cuts in the Main Room. The Main Power Cut was caused when somebody went behind the barriers and pulled the plug out of the wall. Unfortunately as it was a large venue it took our electrician time to find that this was the problem and put the plug back in. We can only apologise that something so simple interrupted your NYE partying…

We would like to invite all who attended and the many who couldn’t to our annual FREE Payback Frantic vs Moondance Party at Hidden this Sat 5th Jan. Please email full names to willfrantic@yahoo.co.uk.

Finally we would like to offer the first 100 who go to www.ticketweb.co.uk on Monday 7th January £5 limited edition discount tickets for Timeless 6 on Sat 23rd Feb. Just use the promo code ThankU08.

instead of some of the others on offer in room 2, who apart from Caz Wood didn't really do anything for me.

U obviously didnt see the Audiohedz then mate, they fuckin rocked it!!!!! Just seein the suprised look on people's faces everytime they played a " different tune" that has been produced by themselves was a highlight for me....luvd the unpredictablity of there set!!!!

As for the night itself i enjoyed it very much....wasnt goin to let anything ruin my New Year no matter what.
Ok so there were problems with toilets and seating, and loads of other things to mention but u dont go for that u go for the atmosphere which was immense and the DJ'z who were amazin and i hav a lot of respect for all of them who must of been annoyed with the problems that arised with the power cut and what not....still put on an awsome show for the fans!!!!

The night finished early due to the fact that before the Audiohedz set the DJ playin before got his head phone plug jammed in the mixer....it took forever to sort it and in the end the Audiohedz had to let the other DJ'z use there own....they left with me and my mates at 5 because that what time our coach was booked for.

Unfortunately I have to agree and I felt dissapointed as Frantic usually throw such good events. I'm lucky I bought my tickets for £18. I was so excited about going out and especially as it was my first big night out since April and I left the event at 3am

The only DJ who kept me dancing for longer than an hour was Andy Whitby and I was so gutted I didn't stay to watch Cally Gage but I just couldn't settle.

Then I had to keep wondering around for toilet roll as nobody seemed to have any and the state of the toilets were just vile. I know this isn't exactly a major issue, but still.

I think the venue would be good for a summer event but def not NYE.

Anyway such is life, happy new year!

x

I have to say from what I saw Frantic NYE was a good night. It did everything it said it would on the tin (IE Warehouse etc)... wasn't able to stay much beyond 2am but during the time I was there the place was rocking.

Chloe and I are genuinely gutted that people didnt enjoy Frantic NYE. After running Frantic for 10 years and over 700 parties anyone who knows me knows that I always set out to make it a great party.

Honestly it proved to be a lot harder to run the party in the Car Park than we expected and I hold my hands up and say we need to do better next time. We had an independent electrician who will confirm that it was as simple as someone pulling the plug out, but in a big space it took longer than anyone of us would have liked to find out this was the problem. Ive never been one to run away from problems and we will make sure that these things dont happen again. Running parties is like any other activity in that things do go wrong, but Im here now working on ways to make sure Timeless is every bit as good as you all expect.

We are running a FREE Party this Sat at Hidden and Im offering tickets for Timeless for only £5 to go some way to making it up to those who didnt enjoy the night. Im also happy to deal with any emails to willfrantic@yahoo.co.uk or to speak to people on the phone on 07958 439 581.

Also as this issue keeps coming up: music. We always play a range of the harder styles at Frantic and a range of DJs. Some DJs and some styles you will prefer more than others, but unless we advertise a special dedicated night we wont be playing just Hard House or just Hardstyle all night, so pls be patient with the DJs and styles you are not so keen on...

Im just glad i bought my ticket in November so only had to pay £18 for this.

I'm glad I bought mine on 1st October and only paid £12 as I'd have been well pissed off if I'd have paid more.

I for one, will never go to another Frantic NYE event ever. If you're going to let people in late by 45 minutes, then at least someone could tell those in the queue what's going on rather than leaving them clueless. It's called communication ......

And if you advertise an event til 6am, why turn the lights on at 5.15 and kick people out at 5.30? You promised a lot regarding the toilets and came up with the excuse that you ordered too late so couldn't get them. Really? Cloakroom too small. Have you never organised an event before and therefore have no clue what size a cloakroom should be?

No excuses, you misrepresented a lot and there are enough choices around over New Year.

Sorry guys but you screwed up and at this rate, you're gonna get yourselves a reputation like Wildchild - not enviable at all.

well . . . . . . . . what a night,

first of all i want to apologise for myself and matt arriving late for our set, we were stuck in the thames fireworks traffic for over 3 hours (we actually spent the midnight hour stuck in the congestion) so thats why we didnt get there till halfway through our set.

there was a slight bit of trouble with the djm800 in the 2nd room when we were playing our first set as the earphone socket sunk inside the mixer and we could not hear what tracks we were about to play (this is why there was a few tracks starting and stopping without no mixing. apologies again but i thought it was best to do it that way than to silence the room by stopping the music) but once that problem was sorted everything was fine and dandy and sets could carry on as normal.

apart from those glitches to my night everything else was awesome, it was a shame the power went in the main room but as stated with the sheer size of the venue it took the electrician a while to find out where the problem was coming from. i thought the venue was superb, it had a real 'rave' underground feel to it. imo its one of the best venues ive been to in a long time.

its a shame so many people are dissapointed with the event, but im sure that frantic will get whatever problems sorted out so if there is a next time things will run more smoothly

a big thanks to will, chloe, elvis and everyone at frantic, and a massive happy new year to you all

Lets stop all this bitching, we're talking about the night here not any particular individual, if you want to mouth off why not aim it at one of the promoters.

everyones points are right, it was cold, the music was for pussies!! I thought frantic was a brandname for the harder side of hardhouse? just lol

yeah they really rocked it with some boring hardstyle
no audiohedz was the best set for me, mashing up the hardhouse and bounce. their best set yet imo

the biggest thing frantic fucked up was the clokeroom. 2 people for that many people? hahahaha
and maybe teach them how to organise coats and bags so they dont need to search every fucking item?!?

Yes we should have come out and apologised for the wait.

Warehouses are licensed by the Police and they asked us to shut at 530 rather than 6 to which we had to comply, but we should have let people know this when we were asked between Xmas and NYE.

Id ask that people come to this Saturday's Frantic or Timeless so we can show that we do listen...

well , what a dissapointment , it was enough to bear that the venue was shit , and the toilets were rank , and the cloakroom was full buy 11.45 but to put up with the choice of either bounce or hardstyle as your music available well what a poorly organised event !
sufice to say that i wont be attending another frantic event after every one i go to is crap !

FRANTIC CAN PUT ON A GOOD ROOM AT SOMEONE ELSE'S EVENT BUT DONT HAVE A CLUE WHEN IT COMES TO PUTTING ON THEIR OWN EVENT , I COULD DO BETTER MYSELF !!

I might be slightly biased, however I had a really good night as did all the people that came down with me.

The venue reminded me of old warehouse parties such as World Dance at Lydd airport, and when you came into the main room and saw all those people going crazy to the beats and the big fat lazer scanning the crowd, it brought back some very happy memories.
The size of the venue was perfect, enough people there in the dance floors if you wanted to get in the thick of it, and enough space else where if you fancied a bit of space to dance around like a loon or to chill out.

There were some issues with the cloakrooms, which Frantic have held their hand up and promised to resolve in the future.
Perhaps some lighting in the Portaloo's wouldn't go a miss, but then not sure I really wanna see too much of the detail to be honest!

My only request for the future, and maybe I'm showing my age, but a Food/Tea booth would have been really nice, just like at Hidden. When I was feeling a little cold, and these old bones were getting tired, a nice cup of Tetley and a Hotdog would have done the trick to pick me back up again! Just an idea ;-)

As for the Hardstyle, whilst I agree it's not everyone's cup of tea, I couldn't see any unhappy faces from where I was standing, and have received lots of fantastic feedback.

A big thankyou to Frantic for having me down and giving me the opportunity to play, and most of all a huge thank you to everyone that came down to support me and all your kind words after the set.
Look forward to seeing you all in 2008.

I liked the venue. The lack of decoration didn't have any effect on my night as being in a warehouse/car park gave you something different to look at! The huge drape/make shift wall things though I did find quite scary, it was so easy to bump into people.

I enjoyed the music up until around 1am. After that it sounded like pretty much the same style in both rooms resulting to me flapping from room to room not knowing what to do with myself appart from smoke more cigarettes and wait for Twist! Can't complain for the music though, we got what we were advertised (minus power cuts and early closing) it was just crap for me because I don't like that basic Hardstyle music (or whatever it was)

Power cuts - people have said it, something is bound to happen and it's just sods law that if this had happened on a night there when there wasn't much else to complain about I'm sure that wouldn't get mentioned as much too.

I personally was happy with the sound volumes. I do actually like being able to hear someone when theyre raising their voice in my ear instead of them having to shout.

I thought the lighting was fine too. Nothing amazing but good enough!

I was also annoyed at the tiolets (but not so much that I let it ruin my evening - it's not like I can go and wee up a wall is it!) I'm used to porta loos as I have done a few festivals although I did expect the blocks of loos to be there with sinks but smeh, at least I had somewhere to sit and do my business! Sharing toilets with blokes though, when it's very dark and they just wee wherever it isn't particularly pleasent to have to sit/squat on everyones urine etc. Even if there was light in the toilets there wasn't any loo roll to wipe the seat beforehand so it was just a little bit disgusting.

Cloakrooms didn't affect me personally but alot of my friends were very dis-pleased and with good reason. After arriving and queing/surrounding the area for half an hour they were told it was shut as it was full up and weren't told where the other cloakroom was. When we went to collect our stuff my friend had to climb in and search for her bag because the cloakroom staff had no organisation of it at all, it may aswell have been a jumble sale. Having to worry about your bag/posessions in the cloakroom isn't nice - it can ruin your whole evening.

The drinks were no pricier than any London club I go to so I was pleased with that. The row of tickets... yes a pain in the ass having to spend £10 or £20 at a time but did no one think to get your group of mates and all put in then no one would have spare tickets at the end which are effectively a waste of their money? Also with there being no tap water available it was quite easy to spend your whole £10 strip of tickets on bottles of water.

Overall I think the money spent on tickets and getting there was not well spent and having been to this dissapointing event when I have never been out clubbing for New Years I did find it very much a let down. I had no idea what to expect and wasn't amazed. Personally after being at the 10th birthday at a very overcrowded and stiffling hot Koko I was skeptical about NYE was going to turn out...

It was nice to see everyone, and to have some good music. Power cuts added a bit of spice and rawness to it! I personally was only angered about the cold when walking round the outsite to swap rooms, as soon as you got inside nearer the crown you soon warmed up.
Yes, a lack or organisation/forward thinking/planning on things such as the toilets and cloak room but ce la vie, nothing we could do about it appart from complain and complaining makes you focus on the bad things and makes it alot harder for you to draw a positive from the night.

I didn't have an amazing time, but at least I was with my mates having a laugh. It also made Twist that bit better because I actually had a bit of energy left!

When we use an unusual space in the future we will put in the Toilets you see in VIP Areas as Festivals. These are like normal domestic toilets, so they flush, and they have basins with running water. They are also well lit.
