It’s time to get your sicknote stories at the ready folks, cos on Thursday 4th October John Digweed will be leading the Birthday singalong at Bedrock’s Anniversary soiree at old stomping ground Heaven. As to be expected, tickets have already sold by the truck load, as the London underground (scene) prepares for one of the biggest parties on the capital’s clubbing calendar.

But then again, Bedrock isn’t your average club night. It was back in the late 90’s when Bedrock first took over Heaven under those infamous arches. The monthly parties that followed soon became part of clubbing folklore and anyone who ever danced the night away down there will testify as to what a phenomenon the night was. Over the years Bedrock continued to push the musical boundaries to dizzy new heights and in doing so helped launch and subsequently develop the careers of Danny Howells, Jimmy Van M, Chris Fortier and Guy Gerber (to name a few). The renowned Bedrock Records then launched a year after the club and many more acclaimed artists soon joined the Bedrock cult – including Steve Lawler, Desyn Masiello, Hyper, John Creamer & Stephane K, Suicide Sports Club, Brancaccio & Aisher, Luke Fair, Pole Folder and Mashtronic. Musically, Bedrock has always been a devotee to the progressive sound – whilst keeping one foot firmly rooted in the electro, tech and breakbeat scenes.

For this special Birthday bash John Digweed will be rolling back the years with an exclusive 4 Hour Set in that infamous main room. He’ll be supported by Bedrock resident and rising star Neil Quigley, with the SOS crew – that’s Demi, Desyn Masiello and Omid16B back to rock the arse out of the Star Bar with another unmissable back-to-back-to-back performance on 6xCDJs, 3xMixers, 3xEFX units and 3xLaptops!! RPM DJs Vs Non-Stop Heroes will be warming up the floor, whilst over in the Departure Lounge, Twisted Audio will be your hosts for the night with Andy Newland, Sarah Rodin, Warren Mooney and guests at the controls.

2007 has been another successful year for John and his Bedrock brand. The Easter party at Heaven was one of the most talked about parties of the year, selling out way in advance and Bedrock’s Arena at South West Four was easily the place to be on Clapham Common with the likes of Josh Wink, Eric Prydz, Steve Lawler and Diggers himself amongst the DJs who smashed it!!

Looking ahead to the Birthday bash, the main man talks us through what we can expect… “I’m really looking forward to being back at Heaven for the Birthday. The club has so much history with the Bedrock nights and as ever you can expect the most forward thinking soundtrack and lots of people late for work on Friday! The crowd at Heaven always make the night so special and it’s not how old the night is that matters, it’s the significance of still being around that counts. The crowd know they are going to get a quality night from DJ’s who genuinely care about what they play. For us, we’re just celebrating another year of doing what we love.”
