WHAT A GREAT NIGHT; SELL OUT CROWD & AMAZING MUSIC
Well. First let me apologise for getting this up online five days after the event, unfortunately the night being what it was I have been in a state of semi-consciousness until today and the thought of having to relive it all was just too emotional!

Needless to say it was a fucking blinder, despite much pre-match nerves and a multitude of minor problems which kept me constantly busy all Saturday! The doors opened at 9 to the sounds of John Donaghy rocking Room 2, building it up to get the party started for the keenos who'd arrived nice and early (cheers guys). By 10:30 it was time to open Room 1 and the crowd had already started to grow, I went on the decks to get the floor ready for the big man Dylan Rhymes' set at 11:30. Meanwhile James Harcourt was on the decks upstairs and building up a frantic pace as the punters started to stream in. By the time I came off at 11:30 both rooms were packed and the atmosphere was electric.

What happened next was a simultaneous explosion of music, dancing, drinking and merriment spread across two floors. Dylan Rhymes and James Harcourt had the place in the palms of their hands, with the crowds shouting, cheering and leaping about with the music, it was an awesome sight to behold. By the time Meat Katie and the Caninesounds boys went on the place was at capacity, the doormen refusing to let anyone else in. Meat Katie pushed the boundaries of Tech Funk with some wicked house and breaks, whilst the Canine lads gave room 2 a seeing to with a trademark energetic electro-house set.

Highlights of the night for me where hearing the Hook and Sling remix of Spin Out's forthcoming release 'This Town' by Subsource about 3 times, seeing the look on the doorman's face as a queue of about 40 people stretched down Kingsland road and seeing Audrey, Spin Out's label manager get battered on about 4 glasses of wine :-). Also watching Sam and Andy from Caninesounds bounce about the place to Rich Dinsdale's 'She Wants Me' was more than hilarious! However the number one highlight was the great crowd of wicked people who showed up and made it such a fun night. Following it all up was the afterparty organised by Pornobreaks, basically a tiny basement room with about 100 people all packed into it messing about, decent!

All in all a great night, as I say Ive only just recovered, can't wait til the next one on March 10th with Elite Force, something tells me its only going to get bigger....

Nice one, Si

nice one to all involved :D had a wicked time, was mostly upstairs dancing and grinning like a loon but had one of the best nights out in a long while. afterparty was wicked too, even if the doorman didnt have a clue where he was, what the address was, if it was the right place, or how much the entry should have been (nothing...).

roll on the next one... might come down to one of the guildford nights sometime too.

freestylers on the 10th next stop!
