NODISKO'S MIDSUMMER LOVE-IN
SATURDAY 23RD JUNE @ HERBAL

Making only his second UK appearance to date, Hamburg’s wonky techno practitioner CAJUAN has impressed us so much with his loopy take on techno we had to get him down our disko. His sets are pretty phenomenal – robotic electro-pogo, acid, new wave and New York dub disco mixed in a turntablist style with acapellas, live FX, samples and a whole lotta cowbell. Phew.

We’re dead chuffed to be welcoming back an old friend of ours, the daddy (or should that be funny uncle?) of Norway’s electronic music scene, BJØRN TORSKE. The man for whom if money were no object, Prins Thomas would most like to sign (Thomas: “If I could lure him out of his cave”), he’s been a figurehead in Scandinavian dance music since the mid-Nineties and was an early mentor to Röyksopp as well as their world tour DJ. He’s back with a simply brilliant new album, ‘Feil Knapp’, out on Smalltown Supersound this month, and it’s as strange and beautiful a record as you’re likely to hear all year.

Making a very rare DJ appearance with him upstairs will be another Nodisko favourite, ALI LOVE. Since leaving electro-funk group 1gnition the singer-songwriter’s become an indie-disco darling with ‘K-Hole’, his tongue-in-cheek travelogue to a debauched night out which became a party anthem last summer. Now a solo star in his own right he’s the vocalist on the brand new single by The Chemical Brothers, ‘Do It Again’. He’s also pretty damn tasty on the ones and twos, having rocked many a Nodisko dancefloor in the past couple of years.

Get ready for some more summer lovin’...
