LINKY TO TURNTABLEISM - youtube.com

WELL SAID....try and do that with CD's!!!!

pardon me if im wrong but the scratch perverts have converted to what you may class as the ''demonic'' route of using cdj's,

i actually burst out laughing with your stupidity in your posts. you must have a lot of free time on your hands

I like the idea of being able to mix vinyl and am learning as we speak :-)
But I find alot of the tunes I really want are only on MP3 format and find myself wishing I had CDJs sometimes. Mixing vinyl is great but CDJs are also great.

And I've seen this girl play a banging sets, whether CDJ or vinyl she can mix!!

So everyone, who is slagging her off I'd like to see you do better!

I don't hear anyone complaining about digital cameras and photoshop?

How many of our photographers on hear use a 35mm film SLR and go home and use a darkroom to develop their pictures? I'm guessing fuck all.

It's sad that vinyl seems to be becoming obsolete, but that';s the way things go. As a DJ, you should learn the skills of Vinyl and CD Decks to make yourself marketable and flexible. As technology changes, we have to adapt, and that's that.

Nice pic by the way ;-)

Bloody hell! Lol@this thread!

I'd just like to say that Apple Macs rule and anyone who uses PCs quite clearly has parents who are also brother and sister. So ner ner ner!

*sticks tongue out, pulls PC users' hair and runs off*

lol - this debate's so tired now...

Just a couple of thoughts on the CD/Vinyl thing - is it cheating to use newer more technically advanced vinyl decks that have made mixing easier? Are the only "real" DJ's using 1200's still? And what about all these bloody mixers! Is the DJM800 and all its amazing features just allowing any old idiot to call themselves a DJ, all the wonderful effects doing their work for them? When should DJ technology have stopped progressing?

And what about that James Zebelia mug, just standing back while his Japanese machines do all the work and then having the nerve to call himself a DJ! Anyone can do that!! Its just pressing buttons innit!

mate, that comment is so naive. what does a mixer with an fx unit have to do with beat matching? James Zambelia is an awesome dj, he doesnt just press one button and it does all the work for him. Your blinkers need removing before you can see the point lol

I guess sarcasm doesn't come accross that well on a message board!

I thought the first part of what I said would have illustrated which side of the fence I sat on. I love James Zebelia, what he does is incredible, which is exactly why I used him to make the point that technology should be embraced not disregarded(albeit badly).

To say DJ'ing only counts if its vinyl and a basic mixer is bollocks! I only ever play vinyl in old skool sets.

So your naivety comment is indeed justified (but only in that I'm a naive poster on DSI).
