The O2 Wireless Festival is a multi-stage event and kicks off in London’s prestigious Hyde Park with headlining act The Strokes on 21st June with David Grey Brit award winning, Best British Female, KT Tunstall playing on 22nd. Also performing on June 23rd are Massive Attack, The Flaming Lips, DJ Shadow and Pharrell, who is flying in especially for what will be his first ever solo UK performance – live and exclusive at the O2 Wireless Festival 2006! Fresh from being crowned Best British Male and Best Pop Act at the Brit Awards, man of the moment and acclaimed singer/songwriter James Blunt will headline on 24th June. Performing live is what he does best and where better to hear his stunning set of huge hits than out in the beautiful open-air surroundings of Hyde Park as the sun sets. Adding to the laid back ambience will be chilled electronica outfit Zero 7, Eels plus Nile Rodgers & Chic. 25th June will see the O2 Wireless Festival come to an almighty climax with quintessential electro-pop legends Depeche Mode headlining. As the penultimate act, the striking, sexual and decadent duo that we love to know as Goldfrapp will bring their unique mix of flashing dance floor pop to the stage. With additional performances by Bauhaus and other special guests, it’s all set to be one hell of a finale. Whilst the fun is still going on in London, Goldfrapp, Pharrell & DJ Shadow will head up to Leeds on 24thJune to kick off the first ever O2 Wireless Festival in Leeds. Not content with one full day of fantastic live music, rock legends The Who will close the Leeds festivities on 25th June alongside Super Furry Animals & The Flaming Lips. More acts for all dates including the headline act for 24th June in Leeds will be announced shortly.
