Flawless - The Past......The Present.....The Future

It has been about 2 years since Flawless first hit the London scene and they have certainly come a long way since their first party.
I use the word party because despite holding events at many clubs and bars, Flawless are determined to ensure that every event is a party... for the people. Yes, it is themed around a general love of all things house. Yes the resident and guest DJs can rock the crowd. Yes, they can have the crowd lingering on every build-up and breakdown. Yes, they manage to pick that luscious blend of known and new floor-fillers. Yes, they always leave the crowd screaming “ONE MORE!”
But, it is not just centred around the music, glorious though it is. Flawless know that all the right ingredients must be mixed in all the right measures to achieve that feeling of “Wow, haven’t had a night out like that in ages. When is the next one?”

A good night out should encapsulate the experience from start to finish and the Flawless team always work hard to deliver in every aspect, minor or major, and they do it with class and consistency.

In a relatively short time since fruition, the Flawless promotion has gained a deft level of maturity and a loyal following. Their brief history can boast a wide variety of amazing party nights, from their initiation at London’s Rose Bar, to venues in Central London including Café De Paris & Sin plus branching out to the London suburbs of Kingston & Greenwich, as well as their recently successful 2007 tour of Ibiza and onto their impending and most impressive party to date at Greenwich’s O2 Dome on Friday 28th September.

Flawless is run by Steve Westover and Mike Ward (better known to their regulars as Westy & Wardy).

What was the motivation to set up Flawless? Where has it gone? What do you love about it?

Steve:

“Mike and I originally set up Flawless based simply on our love for House music and the desire to put on a dam good party for everyone we knew. I wanted to create a brand name which would be instantly recognizable and had a touch of class to it, which is why we chose Flawless, the name says it all really! We started off doing our events at small intimate bars around London for the first six months, basically building the brand name. Our first big break was when we were offered a monthly residency at Club Sin in the heart of the West End which ran for over a year and had some fantastic reviews. I would say that this night established us on the London club scene as a very reputable brand. From then on we have just grown and grown to bigger and better things. Flawless are delivering upfront quality house music whether it be deep underground funk to uplifting vocal house or full on twisted dirty house! 2007 is going to be a busy year for us with a new home for our club nights, the stunning Urban Inc in the heart of the O2 Dome – Greenwich, along with our monthly residency's at Studio Valbonne in the heart of the West End, Amari in Blackheath & Barcadia in Kingston. Plus we have plans for a very special party for you on NYE. 2007 is set to be a big year for us so keep it Flawless!

Mike:

It’s about the people, the atmosphere and everyone having a fuc*ing good time! We firstly and most importantly both love our House music and thought we could bring something new and fresh to the scene, so got together and set up Flawless. Firstly it was a party for our friends, but we have rather quickly pushed this on, and as you are aware we have thrown some quality parties at some top venues. We have got some very exciting times ahead of us now, not only have we secured some new and exclusive venues, but we are constantly looking at the music we play, how to keep it fresh, keep, the crowd extremely happy and find other ways to entertain our followers and newcomers. It’s about the whole feel of the night, the ‘experience’ as they say! We are now looking to push our brand to the next level with many exciting ideas in the pipeline and to achieve this we are expanding our team. All I can say is that I’m enjoying every minute of running Flawless and I know Steve is too. Yes, it’s hard work sometimes, but is it really if it’s something you love! We both just hope that we can keep the public entertained so at the end of the night, all they can think about is when’s the next one?!

As you can tell, they have a very 'work hard party hard' ethic, which is shared in equal measure by the rest of The Flawless team... DJs, dancers, web & graphics guru, PR and promotion peeps.

We are very pleased to be welcoming Lee Somnio to the ever growing Flawless Team. Lee will be coming in as a partner at Flawless and we hope his last 12 years of djing and promoting knowledge will help to push Flawless once again to the forefront of the House Music Scene. Lee has worked extremely hard over the last 12 years and we are proud to have him as a partner.

For all of you that attend Flawless Events you will know how much of a pleasure it was for me to be asked to become a partner of one of the best promotion teams around! Flawless has always grown from strength to strength, with each event being better than the last!
Their aim is to provide the best clubbing experience for you all, consisting of Top dj's playing the very best in Soulful, Funky and Electro House to Live P.A's from some of the top leading artists and Live instruments, such as Bongo and Saxophone players! All of this combined with the venue being turned in to something spectacular, with Lush and Sexy Decor and of course not forgetting the Dancers, makes Flawless an event not to be missed!
As you can tell, it’s an honour to be a part of all this. It has been a dream of mine for some time, which had now become a reality, by being a partner of Flawless.
Our focus for the future is the people. You make the nights what they are and what they will become, so we will do everything we can to ensure these nights make your memories.
Next year we are also looking to be overseas, with events in places like Ibiza, so look forward to every Flawless event, as the future is Flawless!

Flawless is certainly not a faceless promotion. You’ll always see the team in amongst the crowd. Chances are they’ll be the charismatic ones wandering around with a smile stamped on their faces.

DJing Duo Jeff NonStop and Alex Hero are a famous force on the London DJ circuit and with their abundant experience and a current monthly residency at Pacha you’ll find no better headliners.

Steve Westover

Flawless’ own, he may be the brains behind the brand but he is also pretty deft behind the old (and new!) ‘ones and twos’ as well. Vocal house, at its very best.

Jimmy London (Red Velvet)

Like your house music? live in London? then you should know all about this man’s talents. With regular appearances at venues such as SEone, he certainly knows his craft. Prepare to have your house rocked!

Lee Somnio

A regular on the South London circuit and now a core member of the team, the first time Lee played at Flawless in the summer of 2007 he had the dance floor absolutely heaving, and you can expect no less from his set at the o2.

Curtis White

His every set is played with such flawless consistency that it seemed only just, that he should take a residency with a promotion to match his ability, and with a CV that already includes the likes of Turnmills, we need say no more.

Deano-on-percussion

With an uncanny ability to compliment any style of DJ set, Deano is the perfect addition to this artist line-up.

Also joining Flawless on the night will be the DaZe Dancers.

DaZe was formed by Abi Sides in early 2006 and they have been performing at top level house promotions with unrivalled regularity ever since. Flawless always seek to provide the crème de la crème at every party and they have done no less than succeed by adding to the bill, three of DaZe’s finest.

Holly | Abi | Rose

It is a 9pm - 4am affair so make sure you bring your glamorous self and some dancing shoes because you won’t be spending any time sitting in the corner.

You can also reckon on a new mix CD being made available to the first 100 people through the door. The mix has been compiled by Flawless’ resident DJ Deaver / Darren Clark. As ever, you can expect it to be cheeky, exciting and guaranteed to get those neck hairs a-tingling.
