Amplitude at Inigo, wasn’t quite sure what to expect as although I have been to Inigo for many nights out on Thurdays, Fridays and Saturdays and even Sundays I have never been there on a Wednesday night!

I didn’t expect the place to be bursting at the seams when I arrived but there was definitely a good buzz about the place. I arrived just in time to have a quick drink and chat with the resident DJ/ promoter Little Jo who has been creating waves up in Northampton, she runs a night here in London but doesn’t even live here. Now that’s dedication for you! Very soon Little Jo was behind the decks and people must have heard how good the music was from outside, because instantly Inigos started filling up!

I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly crowd that turned up, and not so surprised about how good Little Jo’s DJing is as I had recently had the privilege of hearing her 3 times pervious to this and each set was pure underground dirt! Blends of electro, house, breaks and techno coming thru that certainly added to the party spirit. Her set was so good that it seemed to finish way too quickly I was even honoured to catch one of Jo’s own unreleased productions. Too soon headline guest Euan McGrath took to the decks to carry on the night where Jo left off. Euan has played some killer sets for Platform 12 and it was soon apparent why he’d been booked by Amplitude as he plays house electro and breaks, but they all have to sound dirty, bumby and crunchy. You can clearly hear his love of rawer 'live' sound and his hate for over-production. His been described as stupidly good... and i can see why!

Reluctantly I had to leave before the end, but certainly a great night for anyone wanting to head out on a Wednesday, and even if you don’t, Amplitude is definitely well worth it for anyone who doesn’t take them selves too seriously after all you do only live once!

Great news for those who don’t come out on school nights, I was please to find out that Amplitude are soon to be launching a weekend party, so soon there will be no excuses to try out this little gem of a night! You wont be disappointed!
