Frantically Whitby - catching up with Andy before Frantic's 11th Birthday Masquerade Ball

As Frantic’s key resident, Andy Whitby is headlining their birthday celebrations on Bank Holiday Sunday 24th August at Koko. With his whirlwind schedule of international gigs, designing his own clothing range, productions being snapped up left, right & centre and promoting his One AWsum Night, it’s a wonder he managed to find time to answer a few questions for us!

Battle of the J's - Jordan Suckley & James Condon go head to head in advance of Frantic's 11th!

James Condon & Jordan Suckley have both been making waves in the hard dance scene as hard working, enthusiastic lads with a passion for music and the talent to match. They both hold residencies at the London night Nu Religion, whose crowd rave about both the boys as stars of the future.

As the Kingdom of Hard Beats recovered from the magnificent Winter Ball, their thoughts began to turn towards the birthday of the mighty sorcerers Frantic. The birthday was usually a happy, exciting time across the land, with much celebration and time for dancing.

The people heard talk that this year the birthday would be smaller and more intimate. Rumours spread as they discussed who would be there, what they should wear, and made plans to travel from all over the land to witness the majestic sights.

According to tradition, the venue for this event must be the music hall Koko – scene of many spectacular Frantic balls in the past. As many of the people had seen for themselves, inside Koko was a trove of delights; with winding passages of rich red and gold to explore, and beautiful drapes and carvings.

This year’s birthday will be a Frantic Masquerade, with masks and elegant dresses, top hats and ball gowns! The Frantic Emperors have decreed that the people deserve a Masquerade like no other. Phantom of the Opera, Eyes Wide Shut, the famous balls in Venice – none of these shall compare to the sheer beauty and elegance of the Frantic Masquerade.

Once again the stars of the land will be turning out in force to help celebrate the sorcerers’ birthday – leading lights from across the country will journey to Koko, bringing their own special talents to entertain the masses. The Prince of the Kingdom, Andy Whitby, will be leading proceedings. His fair Princess, Cally Gage, will partner Lady Anne Savage in a merry dance around the glamorous main hall of Koko.

King Reynolds will once again be in attendance in his very grandest outfits to provide the court with merriment and fine music.

Hiding behind her feathery mask so that no one shall recognise her is the Welsh temptress Frisky. She will be joined by the Northern Jesters Pickup & Rise who will no doubt use their disguises to play pranks and cause mischief.

Flying on his magic chariot to be with us from Birmingham is Sir Strange Dave, rumoured to have plans-a-plenty for making merry, and young Lords Jordan Suckley and James Condon shall be duelling for the entertainment of the people. More youngsters will be allowed to join in the fun – two fair maidens known as Caz Wood and Nathalie.

Newcomer to the land, Klubfiller, will be in attendance to witness his first magnificent Frantic Masquerade.

The Kingdom is once again brought together in a time of celebration and joy.
