How did you first get into house music and who were your heroes in the early days?

When i first started out as a dj in 1996 i was into the Garage scene, so my heroes from when i first started where, Karl 'tuff enuff' Brown & Ez, both for different reasons.
KB cause he always had an amazing energy about him which really showed in his sets! Ez as he would try things that no other dj on the scene would, which made him unique, i remember once he played a Spice Girls track during one of his sets, only he could have pulled it off!
These are 2 things that i try to incorporate into my own sets.
Its only the last 18 months that i have really got into House music although i have always appreciated it, along with most quality dance music.
It was after several visits to Pacha London and a visit to Ibiza in 06 that i decided to get back into the dj game after a 5 year break.
And over the summer i had really got into House music, loving all the big summer anthems!

Talking of early days can you tell me where you got your name from?

Well, this is gonna surprise a lot of people, but the name comes from my previous employment.
Lewi comes from my actual name....Lewis.
Five 0 is due to me once being a Police Officer! Yes, really, i was old bill. It was for just over 2 years and it wasn't for me, for several reasons ;)

What tune has been in you box all summer?

Stay around - Milk and Sugar pres ms2.
A big tune thats got wicked energy and a big vocal, defo my favourite tune of this year.

If you could only play out one more time “what club would it be & why?”

If i could only play out one more time i think it would actually have to be main stage @ Global Gathering, i know its not a club, however with that crowd in front of me i would be in my element, i would play anthem after anthem and have everyone singing along to the whole set! Perfect!

Who are your top 3 DJ’S/Producers at the moment?

David Guetta - Simply as i think he makes great party music and his sets are full of energy and tracks that all about fun.
I admire him as he is brave enough to play what other dj's would call commercial rubbish, but hey, if it gets the people dancing......

Erick Morillo - I just love watching him perform, his sets are always a journey and he looks like he is one with the music, his style of driving progressive House i love.

Vandalism - I think the tunes that have been remixed by Vandalism have been awesome this year, god knows how many i have played, but all wicked!

What’s your favourite tune of all time?

Chicane - Saltwater.
I have used this tune for so many personal reasons, i think it has everything a dance track should have in it. Beautiful!

Apart form the last Ibiza Underground what was the best night you’ve had out?

My best night out was the first time i saw Erick Morillo @ Ministry, I was on top of one of the big speakers from 12 - 7 and didn't come down. I had my mates passing me drinks. An amazing night!
However i think my best nights are yet to come........working with Dirty Angels!
