It’s always nice to venture out and see something new. This weekend was my first time ever at a Dirty Angels event. Coupled with the fact it was my first time at Brixton Mass. I couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious.

The general feeling I had got around DSI was that, the last ‘Ibiza Underground vs Miami Madness’ was absolutely fantastic and that in general the Dirty Angels brand was one where you could rely on a night to be fun. Those types of reputations tend to always be let down’s, but what the hey, it’s an opportunity to confirm what everyone was saying.

My feelings at 2am, were that I was enjoying a quality night. I mean really quality. Having been there for a couple hours I had been having a shit load of fun with all sorts of new randomers. I mean seriously, what more can you ask for? The liquor was flowing, the music was amazing and everyone was dancing.

To truly give you a grasp of my feelings, I have to take you back to the beginning of it. I arrived at Mass, swiftly moved through the queue, ascended a few million stairs to the top where I dropped off my coat and thought; it’s time to get the party started. Moved down a couple flights of stairs, assaulted the bar and before I could even finish my beer I was consumed by the music.

This is the first time I’d arrived at a club t-total and to be unable to contain myself before I finished my beer is only a testament to the DJ’s. At time went on, tune after tunes. I found myself dancing and dancing and dancing until I was dragged away for a fag. Nice smoking area by the way, sheltered too.

Ok so I’m back in there and I’m on it. The odd visit to the bar and I’m a sweat bucket from all the dancing, tune after tune, by DJ after DJ. The quality was phenomenal. I mean seriously, there was me thinking that I was getting tired of this shit because the DJ’s were playing bollocks and I come out to somewhere where faith is restored. When God left this Church to become a club I don’t think he had born again electro’ers in mind.

I seriously want to thank all of the DJ’s that made my night, exactly what it was. The Dirty Funkers, Liam Webb, Farserelli, Aaron Le Doubles, The Blend DJ’s and Jonathan Ulysses. On the odd occasion I wondered through to the other room to catch a couple tunes and caught a bit of D. Dacosta, Aaron Ross, Sy Sez and Lewi but every time I was just about to get into it. I kept getting dragged back over to the Ibiza Underground room. Sorry to everyone’s set who I missed in whole.

The people were beautiful. See don’t get me wrong, the women were gorgeous and all that but I’m talking about beautiful, Referencing the core of it all; Fantastic atmosphere and very friendly all round. Everyone wanted to dance, everyone wanted to talk. People I’ve never met before asking for photo’s with me and having looked today. They’re not even on DSI. Then you had the people from DSI coming up and introducing themselves. It was like “woah!” in a good way. It was everything that clubbing was supposed to be about.

Oh and I didn’t even mention the chemistry some of the DJ’s had. How fantastic was it watching them working with each other in such awe inspiring unison. Coming down the stairs at the end, I had a guy come up to me and tell me that every time he looked over throughout the whole night. He saw me dancing. That says it all really. Good people, fantastic music and an atmosphere to die for. I’m most definitely at the next one.

I’m honestly not sure who I should be thanking more, the promoters? The DJ’s? The crowd? The staff? Thanks to everyone for such a memorable night. It was proper top drawer. Thank you!
