For the past 5 years SoulBrew have been doing what SoulBrew do best - great parties in a unique venues with great DJs playing sweet soul music for a good looking, high kicking crowd of London's finest party people.
Their NYE event is well established as one of the most popular parties in town. This year they will be taking control of both floors of Medicine to bring a special night of straight up party classics & the hottest new music to their friendly crowd of dedicated regulars & new faces. The broad music policy of soul infused sounds from funk to disco and hip-hop to house ensures the popularity of the night while the distinct sound of each DJ guarantees there is something to suit all throughout the night.
The men behind this night are Spin Doctor & Andy Bird who having been playing parties throughout Europe & beyond for a decade know what it takes to rock a crowd! For New Year's Eve they will pull out all the stops to celebrate in style as they are joined by a true London legend Mr Soul II Soul himself Jazzie B . The original funky dread has helped shape the sound of soul in the UK and brings his unique sound to the basement of this great East London venue. Expect a brilliant mix of classic soulful floor-fillers with a fist full of exclusives thrown in for good measure.
The upstairs bar is hosted by BBE Records who recently celebrated their 11th Anniversary with a great night at Canvas. Anyone familiar with the music released by this MOBO winning label will be sure of the quality of sounds that will be played on the night. Representing BBE is the label's founder and CEO Pete Adarkwah & one of the driving forces in dance music over the last 10 years DJ Vadim . From producing on Ninja Tunes, DJing in any country you care to mention, running a label, to even finding time for the occasional spot of painting the man does not stop! Another party rocking institution in the shape of DJ Hooch also steps up to the decks. As the man behind the legendary Fukin' Pussy & The UK B-Boy Championships his credentials as one of London's hip-hop legends is in no doubt.
