-TREMOR- Touches downfor London - TOP FLIGHT!!!!

First thing Saturday morning saw myself and Lyrical Groover hit Brixton town sharp and livelee, at around 6.00am to host Tremor at Club Medusa in Cold Harbour lane.

On entering the main down stairs arena, deep bass and breaks of the sounds of D.J Hemlock echoed through the dance floor, of deep funky house. A perfect way to start the morning off, not feeling to clever from the previous evening and journey to the club I went with Lyrical to the bar and ordered a pint of Strongbow. This eased my discomfort for about fifteen minuets then straight back to hitting the wall, with a very dodgy stomach.

After sitting down and enjoying the bass and breaks until about 8.o clockish Hemlock switched over with Danny Tappenden. I have always liked Trance and this set kicked off with some nice smooth ambient tracks that peaked in and out of vocals, setting the morning stride off very nicely indeed.

After meeting the promoter and organiser of the night we ventured upstairs to where the Hardcore and other music was due to be played. Another nicely spaced arena, with plenty of seating and dance floor space. The lights were nice too setting a nice lighting across the room.

After sitting down to a smooth second set from Dan, 9.00am came round sharpish so I made my way up to the top deck, to check out second room and live music.

The promoter of the event, and D.J Mikey Fusion kicked off with a slamming upfront U.K hardcore set. Admittedly I first felt that I wasn’t up for the job, but after another swig of my ever warming Strongbow- and Mikey’s first track I picked the mic up and started to do my thing.

A fine set to kick it off with, upfront hardcore selecting his way through the realms of the core. A set to keep any true hardcore head happily entertained! Finding the strength from some where, I hosted the whole show, and thoroughly enjoyed my self! After Mikey Fusion stepped down, D.J Bilbster stepped up, another London Legend. I have heard Bilbster play before and he smashed it then. Playing an all vinyl set which is always nice to see, he slammed his way through older style hardcore to free form to newer stuff, sadly the heads didn’t hold out until midday but it kept me within the grip of happy reality and again was a very good set, that any true raver would have been worthy of.

After Bilbster had played through almost his entire record collection that he had brought with him (good show mate!) special guest Spenno stepped into the arena. Naturally known for his charismatic Mcing, and crowed hype- a few people will know that this man CAN MIX!!!!!
And mix he did. I have had the pleasure of hosting a Spenno set before, and would jump at the chance again. Lyrical Groover had been asked to host this set, and took to the mic to host Spennsters set.
NEVER disappointing Spenno played a full on upfront U.K hardcore set, boasting a fine array of unreleased material, packed full of fresh sweeping and uplifting vocals- JUST what the doctor ordered(talking of doctor- by this stage I really needed one, as my stomach and energy really had hit rock solid bottom…!) Then half way through Spenno’s set the chords of what sounded like Love Garden by Darren Styles filtered through. Sweeping into the break- IT WAS LOVE GARDEN! This lifted me up and the heads that were also in for this reacted too- no doubt this went off!!!!
Getting better and better as he constructed the set, Spenno played some new stuff made by and featuring him, this really stood out and I really do hope that release information will be out soon regarding this….

At around 1.00pm Ben Skinner and D.J Incentive and the Summit crew appeared, and made the switch with Spenno.
Lyrical took to the mic, and started it hype it up, the Summit crew brought fresh vibes and again the pace changed with a super sharp and fast blend of upfront hardcore. Ben kicked off with a thumper of track and followed up with more tight as you like mixing with more of the same, Incentive stepped up the back to back attack and laid it down proper - again this set was of futuristic quality in full mixing flow. I remember some vocal tracks being played, but couldn’t tell you the names…Never the less this set rocked the socks off it! After Lyrical Groover offering me the mic for about the fourth time!!! And me declining because of how I felt, Summit’s MC Monkey stepped up- bringing new energy to the room, and rallying the crew sitting don to get up and dance! I really wanted to and also get on the mice, but my energy just didn’t mentally feel quite there…
After Ben and Incentive finished the set another D.J stepped up to the hot spot and yet- AGAIN- turned it right up! Continuing with the upfront selection but with a different direction, bouncy and vocal tunes all over - I thought it high time that I try and get on the mic.

After having a brief chat with Mr Skinner and MC Monkey I was encouraged to get up and give it ago!
My stomach still doing 360's I was a little apprehensive, as Lyrical had continually tried to get me on the mic for Spenno and the Summit crew- I had, had to say no to these previous sets as my energy just wasn’t there.

Heart in my mouth I picked the mic up and visions of 8 mile cautiously ran through my mind!!!!- After asking D.J John Edwards his name I opened up with an intro and then flew into my lyrics and crowed hype!
I loved the show and time that i performed and the small crew that had gathered showed a good vibe, and I then took time out to go and have a chat with Ben Skinner and crew!
I stayed for the remainder of John Edwards and Kevsey D’s set. Kevsey D usually a Hard House D.J from Frantic stepped up to play a u.k hardcore set- and did a remarkable job!- More air tight mixing and spot on track selection NICE 1 BRUVVVVVVVVVVVVVA!!!!
John Edwards took us to the end of when I left to go home- at 3.30pm and HUGE respect to Hemlock, Danny and Mikey for arranging a lift to Bricky station(I was a little worse for wear at three in the afternoon and didn’t really want to walk it on foot- APPRECIATED guys!!!)
I arrived home feeling elated and happy that I’d gone to Tremor- I’m sorry to all the people that I spoke to and couldn’t conversate properly- myself and Lyrical had been to High Voltage in Bedford and that had pretty much taken it out of me. .. - I know-I’m a light weight but hey it happens maan!!!;)

To sum up: TOP SOUND, THUMPING SYSTEM, AMAZING TOP OF THE GAME D.J TALENT- A1 Team that run the event
BIG RESPECT to all the crew that attended, and the guys who made it happen!NICE1 and hope to see you some time in the new year!.- Remember Tremor is shaking up your ear!...............
