Smokingroove - the Housexy day review
Well,

With Saturday usually being a busy enough day for us, this one was to prove a little more than we expected. Started off waking up at 6am (after hitting the pillows at 2am) and working on Saturdays radio show's final edits. After wrapping up all the bits ready for that nites show, we ventured off to Regents park for the Innocent festival, and ran into quite a few friends from the biz (even got photo'd a few times)..

After the exhausting 1.5hr trip back home, hit the shower and got the show bits & promos and left to get to the station for 9.45pm. Had a ball with the radio with even more listeners calling in via mobiles and the online chatroom & email asking where we were off to after the show.

Got to Ministry for around 12.50am and qued up for a bit but as we had some decent weather, no one was bothered. Get inside to find a sultry crowd and Sander Kleinenberg & co mashing up the main box. Now, i like Sander (nice chap) and i like his musical choice but hands-down, the award for best room went to the HOUSEXY room which was heaving with party cats and disco-chicks...

A nice mix of chunky, electro-ish breaks with some sex-fuelled vocals, making you wish you were in our fave white-isle sipping whatever and dancing till u dropped.. Although we were in London, the vibe was deffo there and we had one hell of a good time..

I (we) would recommend this as a remedy to anyone not venturing out to Ibiza this year as i've found this to be one of the only parties that truthfully embrace that Ibiza house-music feeling..

Well done to the Housexy lot, Thats how u run a club-night!

Tone,

It has changed sooo much...
I remember playing the main room before the refurb and needing to stand on a crate to reach the decks which were perched sooo far back on sponge-panels.. they now have the main dj booth on the other side of the room.

The main bar is practically unchanged but the baby box and upstairs look really swish..
Worth paying a visit on the right night..
