On Saturday 14th April ClubClass returns to our London home, the Ministry of Sound, for an all night session of underground techno, house, breaks and electro.
For this huge event we are delighted to present a techno special in The Box headlined by the legendary Robert Hood. Following in the footsteps of last years special guests Danny Tenaglia and DJ Rolando, the booking of Hood continues our mission to showcase the world’s greatest artists who have inspired us to throw parties in the first place. As one of the finest DJ exports and visionaries Detroit has ever produced, Hood was responsible for the formation of Underground Resistance (alongside Jeff Mills and Mad Mike Banks) in the early 90’s and the creation of minimal techno (alongside Dan Bell) in the mid 90’s. Usually found headlining the UK’s seminal techno nights such as Pressure, Atomic Jam and Lost, the booking of Hood to play an exclusive dex'n'fx set for our techno special represents a massive coup for ClubClass and one we look forward to with baited breath.
Joining Hood in the box is debutant Jesper Dahlbäck who takes time out from his busy studio schedule to play an exclusive and extremely rare set in the UK. Alongside fellow Swedes Adam Beyer, Joel Mull and Cari Lekebusch, Dahlbäck is one of the founding fathers of modern European techno and whose productions alongside these guys and Mark O’Sullivan (as DK7) have pounded ClubClass dancefloors relentlessly in recent years. Finally completing The Box lineup is ClubClass’ brilliant resident Paul Woolford (on warm up duties) and the Gucci Soundsystem’s Riton, who has recently been installed into the We Love residents team for 2007.
In The Bar we are delighted to welcome our friends from Finger Lickin’ Records who host a room at a ClubClass event for the very first time. They showcase a heavyweight lineup boasting three of the most in-demand and widely recognized breakbeat artists all under one roof; Lee Coombs, Soul Of Man and the Drumattic Twins. This awesome trio joins Breakpoint resident Mark Fanciulli all of which will be spoiling you with the hottest breaks known to man. Finally in the Baby Box we celebrate the 1st Birthday of underground house collective Rebel Beat Faction, whilst RPM Magazine debut their electro sounds in the Lounge.
Together this lineup represents one of the sickest we’ve ever assembled. We hope you can join us on the 14th and be part of what will be an unforgettable night…
