ERICK MORILLO

A jack of all and master of many could be Erick Morillo’s motto. Morillo is a livewire with the drive of a Ferrari, the chutzpah of a patent medicine salesperson and the charm of a beetle. He can play a bit, too.

As a producer, he has churned out tracks under a bewildering array of pseudonyms (Ministers De la Funk, Pianoheadz, RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate and Li’l Mo Ying Yang to name but some).

As a DJ, he has played the world over from his base in Jersey, to Ibiza, Greece and beyond. Then there’s his coveted residency at Ministry of Sound, the first American to secure this spot since Tony Humphries back in 1992; and, for whom, he has released 2 compilation CD’s.

For good measures he’s also remixed Whitney Houston, Crystal Waters, Jocelyn Brown, Basement Jaxx, Madison Avenue, Enrique Inglesias, and so many more. And then, of course, there’s a small matter of one of the biggest selling dance acts of all time. Reel 2 Reel. Yep, Erick Morillo is a busy guy.

Musically, Morillo embarked on another journey. Joined by labelmates, Jose Nunez and Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero, the trio formed “The Dronez” and produced some of the most cutting edge remixes for artists such as Whitney Houston, Jocelyn Brown, Diana Ross, DJ Rap, The Sneaker Pimps, Basement Jaxx, and Mystic 3.

Disc jockey, producer, all-round social gadfly and party animal. Are you ready for some more? Ladies and Gentlemen: Erick Morillo.

DAVID GUETTA

2007 belongs to David Guetta. With his third long-playing album Pop Life, the return of the legendary ‘Fuck Me I’m Famous’ parties in Ibiza and massive bookings all over Europe and the US, the superstar DJ is taking things to the next level. A household name in his native France, the multi-million selling producer, recording artist and promoter has found the rest of the world is rapidly catching up.

He has become one of the most in-demand DJs in the world, headlining nights in America, Australia, Japan, South America and beyond, and his career as a recording artist has blasted off into the stratosphere. His first two albums Just A Little More Love (2002) and Guetta Blaster (2004) had already reached 2 x gold in Europe, while the Wally Lopez mix of ‘Just A Little More Love’ became David’s first UK hit in 2003, and remains a deathless Ibiza anthem to this day. In 2005 he was nominated for a Grammy for his remix of Deep Dish’s ‘Flashdance’ and earned that rarest of seals of approval – the invitation to remix David Bowie, in the shape of his peerless “‘Heroes’” track. He was named DJ Of The Year at London’s House Music Awards. Then, in 2006, David Guetta vs The Egg’s mash-up ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go (Walking Away)’ was a Top 10 smash around the world. In the UK it held the Top 20 for over two months!

Meanwhile, three Fuck Me I’m Famous triple gold-selling mix CDs, together with a record label of the same name, plus roadblock nights at the Miami Winter Music Conference, soon ensured “Fuck Me I’m Famous” was one of clubland’s most revered brands. David Guetta has become a global phenomenon.

2007 has been an unbelievable year for Welfare For The Digital. It kicked off with a bang when the boys joined ISSST at their incredible NYE warehouse party in Shoreditch, with Simian Mobile Disco, Tiefschwarz and the Klaxons. This was followed by gigs at some of the biggest parties in London throughout 2007. Four dates at Ministry of Sound, including a headline set in the Main Bar. Two more ISSST Warehouse parties and a residency with the pioneers of Londons Nu-Rave scene, SLAANG, where they played alongside Para One, Kissy Sell Out, and Black Strobe. This also included one of their highlights of the year, an impromtu back to back set with The Infadels, closing the most recent SLAANG Warehouse Party in front of 1200 happy ravers.

They’ve also hosted the second room (T2) at Turnmills, as well as playing guest slots there for Smartie Partie and UP^^, and not to mention their debut appearances at The Cross, Breakfast @ Egg and progression through to the final of DJoust at The Whitehouse. It’s been a busy year, and off the back of this they’ve been signed to one of the UK’s most reputable DJ Agencies, Sedition DJs, alongside Tim Sheridan, Mark Hughes and Paul Jackson to name but a few.

They are also the guys behind one of London fastest growing and much-loved club nights, Innuendo, and throughout 2007 the night has gone from strength to strength. The year finishes with a massive party at Ministry of Sound on Saturday 1st December, when they’ll be in the Baby Box supporting the legendary Erick Morrillo and David Guetta.

2008 looks set to even better still, with a residency in the Main Bar at Ministry of Sound, Ministry of Sound Ibiza, two very special Innuendo parties (watch this space) and International dates around Europe.

Rob and D.A.V.E Marchant

From the East End to the West End, Rob and D.A.V.E Marchant have been playing back to back for over 9 years. Four of these hedonistic years were spent gallivanting around the club worlds best known island and establishing an exclusive Ibiza residency. Since then the duo have played at some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Space, Eden, Pacha, Es Paradis.
After conquering the white island these boys decided to turn their hand to the London Market, and have recently been seen gracing legendary Turnmills.

Their style of music is extensive to say the least, ranging from tougher house to all manner of electronic beats.
