As we look back at what can be considered as ClubClass’ most successful year to date, we look forward to what will be our greatest landmark; our 10th Anniversary. 2007 will see ClubClass host a series of events throughout the year to celebrate this achievement kicking off royally on New Years Day with Zabiela in Maidstone and then on Saturday 20th January at our London home The Ministry of Sound. Our last party with Trentemøller witnessed over 2200 pass through the Ministry doors, the most attended event in ClubClass history. This followed the ClubClass night with Danny Tenaglia, another complete and utter roadblock. All in all of the five ClubClass events held at the Ministry in 2006, two of these were in the MoS’ top five most attended nights of the year, a tremendous achievement by all concerned. We expect nothing different in 2007…
For the 20th January party ClubClass returns to the Ministry, for a four room session of house, techno, electro and breaks. This will be the first Saturday night the club is open following New Years Eve, traditionally a huge night in the MoS calendar. Headlining the event will be ClubClass resident Nic Fanciulli in what will be Nic’s first two hour main room DJ set at the Ministry since the launch last February. Nic has been somewhat eager for some action in the MoS Box after missing the November party so he’ll be pulling out all the stops to remind us what we’ve been missing out on. Nic brings with him his band the Buick Project, who after their sensational performance last July return to ClubClass for their first gig of 2007 and their first performance since being nominated for a Grammy Award. The nomination in the best remix category further elevates the group into the position of one of the world’s premier electronic bands and we’ll be making sure they get the send off they so richly deserve ahead of the awards ceremony on 11th February in Los Angeles. Completing the Box lineup is recently installed ClubClass resident Paolo Mojo, who joins our residents team for 2007, and the awesome Sebastien Leger who makes his ClubClass debut.
In the Bar Futurism showcases the DJ superstars of tomorrow with Micky Slim, Jon Gurd and Sam Ball and Chris Lake. Lake has had an incredible 2006 with his productions receiving critical acclaim from music journalists and music fans alike. ‘Changes’ broke into the national charts whilst other hits have come in the form of ‘Release’ and his remix of ‘Discopolis’. These have helped to cement Chris’ reputation as one of world’s most talented up-and-coming DJs and producers and we’re delighted that he’s taken time out of his busy studio schedule to come and play ClubClass.
Breakpoint welcomes Bournemouth’s Break Da House in the Baby Box for this party following November’s riot with Nottingham’s Product. The breaks will be supplied by Breakpoint resident Mark Fanciulli and BDH residents D*Funk and Ben Logue, whilst further support comes in the form of Babyshake’s Shake DJs and Small Fry. Finally in the Lounge Bar we present Deep South Sessions and their sublime deep house sounds in their first appearance ever at the Ministry. This follows two years of quality underground shindigs across the South-East in which they’ve welcomed the likes of Swirl People, Fred Everything, The Lawnchair Generals, Nathan Coles and Eddie Richards.
So if you’re looking for your first huge night of 2007 look no further. Nothing other than a roadblock can be expected as ClubClass delivers another monster DJ lineup in addition to a Grammy Nominated live act! The 10th Anniversary celebrations have begun…
