Thirteen years young and with a move of venue, The Gallery is set for one helluva Birthday bash and another outstanding year ahead. For those of you who’ve been in outer space over the last few months, The Gallery has moved to the world famous Ministry of Sound and in doing so has kicked off a new era in its action packed history. Little over a month ago we said goodbye to Turnmills bringing together a whole host of the names that have contributed to its success down the years. ‘The Last Dance’ was a fitting occasion to say goodbye to a great venue and to reflect everything that is great and golden about The Gallery down the years.

However in true Gallery style, the party goes on and we’re thrilled to be taking over Friday nights at the world famous Ministry of Sound. It’s a move that cements The Gallery as one of the world’s leading weekly club nights and takes us to a whole new level. To kick things off, we’ve paired the launch party celebrations with those of our own 13th Birthday and oh, do we know how to throw a birthday bash!!

We welcome none other than the World’s No.1 DJ to light the birthday candles and to officially launch our new residency in Gaunt Street. Armin van Buuren is no stranger to The Gallery having played for us on numerous occasions and various events down the years. To secure Armin for such an occasion serves to highlight not only The Gallery’s continued appeal as one of the nights to play at worldwide but also the excitement of the move to a new, larger venue in the shape of Ministry of Sound. Indeed The Gallery’s first two weeks headliners both got a taste of the MOS goodness when they appeared at the DJ Mag Awards some two years ago, a night that witnessed many a trance fan make their first or long overdue return visit south of the river. Not letting the No.1 tag allow him any chance to rest on his laurels, Armin has been hard at work since his long overdue crowning. From his A State of Trance weekly radio show - which still offers one of the best insights into what’s hot or not... to his many labels, the huge raft of material regularly forthcoming from the Dutchman’s many imprints and of course his unmissable DJ sets (including our Xmas Party in 2007 and last year’s 12th Birthday). An unforgettable DJ, this is indeed a rare honour to witness Armin kicking off proceedings for The Gallery at our new home, but also, may we add, set the bar to which others will have to give a damn good try to break!!

Joining him on the night will be Judge Jules, one of the Gallery’s most regular guests, who never fails to whip it up right royally with his trademark tougher, funkier vibe coming through in everything from his latest wallet of dancefloor destroyers to those trademark glasses and loud t shirts! With another summer season to look forward to at his own club night Judgement Sundays in Ibiza and with no let up in his relentless schedule of touring, Jules continues to be a popular figure and as always is a welcome guest to The Gallery 1’s and 2’s. All rise please! John Askew is having another one of those years; his Discover Records imprint continues to go from strength to strength whilst he continues to supply the dancefloor with a bevy of well supported and well received tunage. With no let up in his touring which has seen him take in the far corners of the globe in recent months, John makes a long overdue visit to the place he calls home and will provide the perfect DJ to ramp it up just that notch at just that right time to ensure that the Bday fireworks go off with a bang.

Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel gets in on the action; getting things going in the true spirit of the tag line ‘excellence in the art of sound’ right from the off in the main room. Over in the bar the main Gallery resident Tall Paul towers over proceedings in only the way he can! Whilst also finding time to drop a very special 3 hour set taking in his housier edge he will be joined by another two residents in the shape of the legendary Steve Lee - whose backroom session at Turnmills used to cause quite a stir and the ever welcome Tania von Pear, whose recent international jet setting schedule should ensure that she is well prepared to give the bar a good going over, so to speak! The Baby Box welcomes for the first Gallery the return of much loved London brand Cheeky People. Experts at getting things going elsewhere to the main proceedings, expect the baby box to be chockablock as the cheeky peeps get another good smattering of house music from their illustrious array of residents. Not half!!
