The Gallery Boat Party returns on Fri 13th June - full details.... By thegallery-tom - Thu 22 May 2008 - 4 comments
Music : House, Trance and Techno
The Gallery Friday 13th June NUS £12 / Members £12 B4 12am / £12 Advance / £15 on the door Box: Mauro Picotto John 00 Fleming Marcel Woods Breakfast Gavyn Mytchel Bar: Yousef Tania Von Pear Matt Von Holtz Periera Baby Box: Hosted by Union DJs Lounge: Hosted by Reminisce This Friday 13th June welcomes the return of our legendary pre-club Boat Party aboard The Dutchmaster (scene of many a classic party over the years feat. the likes of Armin van Buuren, Nic Fanciulli and Marco V!) with the usual Gallery madness sure to rear its head on the Thames!! Those that make it to the club after and the masses who will have no doubt rued not getting a ticket for the boat are in for a treat though. Welcoming some of The Gallery’s favourites to Ministry of Sound for the club event, it looks set to ensure a full-on Gallery experience taking in a cross range of styles and genres pitched to ensure the typical Gallery progression we have all grown to love. Italy’s techno supremo Mauro Picotto provides the headline action with his Meganite sound providing the Box with something truly special to take the night up a gear. Mauro is the first and only Italian featured amongst the world’s Top 10 DJs. And his most successful creation, Meganite has seen events held and residencies held all over the world. Besides the acclaimed Ibiza residency, Mauro and Meganite hold events in Miami, London, New York and many more cities in Europe, Asia, Australia and America. Couple this with a rich heritage of massive productions from pretty much every genre whether it be anthems for the trance masses such as Komodo and Lizard, techno crossover records on his Meganite label or typical genre bending tunes Mauro style; he has plied his trade the world over and brings this wealth of experience, tunage and DJing to Ministry, we can’t wait! John 00 Fleming has long been one of those DJs truly respected across the dance music world for his honesty, integrity and dare we say damn good taste in music. Whether it be the White Label Euphoria CDs that broke the mould in compilations, his outspoken views on dance music (much of which everyone is thinking, but too afraid to say) or his relentless gig diary to all corners of the world... he is a purveyor of the psy-trance sound. His recent Euphoria compilation has been a runaway success shooting up the charts the world over; prepare to be treated to a head down, arms in the air psy experience unlike anything. Marcel Woods continues to be an anthem producing machine. Defining the recent tech-trance genre recent tracks have included ‘On Fire’ and ‘New Feeling’. Sure to bring some big lead lines and massive drops to the proceedings Marcel is a sure fire to rock a dancefloor and we can’t wait to have him back. October saw the UK debut of US talent Breakfast here at The Gallery and we were sure onto something when we tipped this young lad for big things. Going on to appear at events like Full On Ferry and beginning to collect the obligatory air miles associated with being an in demand DJ/producer; he has provided a number of killer tracks and remixes such as ‘Sunlight’ and ‘The Air Between’ and re-rerubs for the likes of Dubfire and Above and Beyond. The Bar welcomes one of Liverpool’s best DJ exports to date, Yousef. The promoter of Circus - one of the leading nights in the North, he continues to be in demand the world over constantly travelling to spread his sound to the masses. Headlining the Bar for us after no doubt giving our boat party a good going over earlier in the evening we’re delighted to welcome him back to The Gallery. Ably assisted by Gallery’s ever talented and mischievous Tania von Pear, she’s joined by men about town Matt von Holtz and Periaria. Meanwhile, those party starters Uniondjs return to host the Baby Box with their typical grace and Reminisce look after business in the Lounge.
