The Gallery Friday 2nd May 22:30 - 06:30 Box: Paul van Dyk (3 Hour set) Kuffdam (Kuffdum & Plant) Gavyn Mytchel The Viceroy Bar: Jimmy Van M (3 Hour set) Baby Box: Hosted by Do You Like it Dirty There are few names in dance music that worldwide command the sort of reaction that Paul van Dyk does. From the infamous PVD logo to his Vandit Records label or even his VONYC platform he remains one of the biggest DJs on the planet from headlining festivals all over the globe to ramming out clubs week on week - he is simply one of those DJs. Commanding a huge loyal following and one of the big DJs who continually impresses with his DJ performances time after time, proving it still does matter what, how and why you play what you do. These days Paul combines a huge array of technology bringing with him midi keyboards, Ableton ready laptops, and Allen & Heath mixers all to create the unique feel that is the man himself. To say we’re excited about his return to The Gallery would be a gross understatement, after watching him tear up South West Four last summer and the after party at Brixton Academy, and then again at his album launch at KOKO... we’ve been waiting for just the right moment to get the man who can back where he belongs!! Not only will Paul be headlining this, our second ever Gallery at the Ministry of Sound but in doing so will be dropping a very special 3 hour extended set to help us continue to adapt to our new surroundings. We think you will agree it’s destined to be one of those Friday nights!!! Joining the main room action will be production sensation and in demand DJ, Kuffdam of Kuffdam & Plant. In recent years he’s come to embody the future of trance with a string of hit productions and remixes including ‘Summer Dream’, ‘The Ones we Loved’ and ‘Dream makers’. A favourite with the trance establishment worldwide, and especially Paul van Dyk and his Vandit imprint, 2008 will see Kuffdam come of age coupling a groundbreaking album on Vandit with extensive touring. With an artist album on one of the world’s biggest labels about to drop and an impressive user of Ableton to DJ with, Kuffdam is seriously one to watch as he takes up his place alongside record label boss and mentor for a very special night. Gallery warm up and resident supremo Gavyn Mytchel is once again brought back to stoke the fires before our headliner after continually impressing the German with his well pitched warm ups even resulting in him warming up for Paul at Passion in Coalville as well as most previous Gallery outings. Fresh from leading proceedings for the opening week Gavyn will be setting the tone once more ahead of Paul’s 3 hour journey of sonic excellence! Gallery resident The Viceroy takes up his end of night position to ratch it up a notch in his formidable style. Still a young’un, The Viceroy continues to win plaudits and praise from all quarters both for his DJing combining a main room Gallery residency with that for his Vaccine brand and also for his production work. Fresh from releasing ‘La Galeria’ with Cream resident Gareth Wyn on Vandit Digital and ‘Affirmative Action’ on Discover Dark expect the usual high octane madness to ensue for maximum effect! Over in the bar, prog-god Jimmy van M puts in a very special 3 hour extended set. This is the perfect chance to catch one of The Gallery’s favourites at work. His Balance series of CDs continue to set the standard and he’s always been hard at work across the scene, including securing Sasha & Digweed’s infamous residencies at Twilo as well as organizing and performing in The Delta Heavy tour of the US. The Bedrock hero has always been there, sometimes in the foreground and just as often in the background, working away to advance the music he believes in - first across America and now across the rest of the globe. With this firmly in mind, Jimmy’s 3 hour set promises to be another don’t miss it occasions. Completing this dancefloor de force we welcome Do You Like it Dirty to the Baby Box to rinse out the housier side of The Gallery in the small n’ cosy room at the back.
