She is climbing the ladder and establishing her self among the cream of female house music vocalists. Her voice has been described as angelic yet soulful with a twist of diva. Track are as: Tell me why J: Soul records Release the pressure Subliminal Soul Records Love yourself J: Soul records Feeling love J: Funk records Just Cant get enough Subliminal/AATW for 5th Dec 2005 Right before my eyes: Southside Hustlers for Toolroom Records/Data 2006 With the success and re-release of Just cant get enough on Subliminal Records and further on AATW for a commercial release on the 5th Dec 2005 which charted in the UK at Number 11 she has had her best year yet. In addition I’m working with long time business partner Mark Hoey and friend on several writing projects this is including the writing of the topline for the Chris Lakes smash "Changes which has made the track Pete tongs essential new tune again in June. was due for release in September 2006 on Apollo and reached number 27 in the UK top 40 and was A listed on radio one!. 2007 In addition to writing songs for other people I’m currently working on an album/artist project of my own and I have now after many years of wanting to finally taken up DJing my first dates are Spring summer 2007 so keep an eye out for a combined DJ live PA set out soon!

Cheers for taking time out for us Abigail. It's been quite a year for
You so far...

I understand you've recently become Pukka Up's new resident - how's it going?

Yes its brill i do my first date this weekend in OSLO Norway and then my first Pacha residency starts on the 16th June and every month then after..as well as the pukka up tours and Ibiza dates too !!!! im really looking forward to it and cant wait to get cracking!!!

And what can we expect from you ?

Lots of fun energy and excitement and great music!!!

Is it true that you have a live act / DJ performance in the pipeline?

Yeah I’ve been PA ing all over the world and I’ve always wanted to DJ from about my teens but that was something all the boys were in to and back then I wasn’t strong enough to not care about what they think so I moved on to dancing and singing.. which has lead me to where I am today.. so I though now is the right time to fuse the two together and its being very well received already !! I’ve only just started but over the next few months ill be working hard to develop my shows and style its fresh new and exciting!!!

Putting that sort of thing together must require a lot of planning ?

Yeah but you don’t get to bogged down with it its all about having fun and entertaining new ideas can come from live adlibs so yeah you plan some and and improvise the rest.. I’m lucky really cause I’ve sang over many dj set for many djs live adlibs so I had a lot of experience with that what I need to do is make sure I can perfect the art of doing both at the same time.

You had quite a successful career with your vocal talents and a couple of Top Ten Hits. Can we expect big things from you as a DJ?

yeah deffo!! I’ve got so much going on djing singing and my next step is producing too but that’s in for the future i want to work on one thing at a time.. but eventually ill have an Abigail bailey track only to call my own its all good!!!

Sound exciting and defiantly different. So what have you got in store for us in the coming months production wise?

Well I’ve just co produced, written and sung the vocal for a summer tune its very chunky but funky and its nearly finished.. it’s with two guys one is a producer from Norway and the other is from Wales .. mad combo but they are called the beat agents and the track has a great feel to it!!! So look out for that!

You have worked with a lot of big artists, What was the best track to work on and which artists have taught you the most ?

The best track was herd & fitz, that was my launch pad but I co wrote to the top line to Chris Lakes ‘Changes’ and I’m very proud of that too its a global track and I’ve just come back from Brazil where i was asked to sing it twice in one gig!
Its such a good feeling to see other people love and understand your lyrics and the feeling that you put into a record .. I guess I’ve learnt a bit from everying i have done all my songs i love to learn new things and I take a but
from everyone .. Eric Morillo I respect a lot he is a true business man and the advise that had from him is great I he made me see back a few years ago that this is a business and you have to not get to caught up in the glam side keep your feet on the ground and make sure you work hard and always have a focus a goal to adhere too, that way you will have a longer career which is what I want I don’t want to be a one hit wonder!!!

From your recent experiences would you say that the scene is getting stronger again?

yes definitely so its getting stronger all the time there is a lot of reinvention going on but that’s not a bad thing i think that i needs that to familiarize people and keep the scene having a commercial edge.. that will allow for the under ground stuff to survive to .. it’s as long as radio stations keep dance tracks on the play list there will be money to be made and then the whole scene can grow and evolve..

Will you be venturing out to the White Isle this year ?

yeah lots i love ibiza.. im working out there for Pukka up in july and sept and then I’m taking my daughter Sacha out who will be 12 then god I feel old when i say that!!! We are going to have fun hire a car and have a chilled one i want to explore the beauty of the island that week the rest it work work work!!!

DJs and producers are renowned as having a glamorous life, if I was you for a day, what would be the most disappointing thing I'd discover about the reality of a DJs life?

The relentlessly sitting in airports very dull,!! There’s only so much duty free you can buy!!!! err and missing home being a mum its hard to leave home behind but i would rather do this that do a nine to five that not me and I’ve learnt to except it!!!!

What do you like to do away from the dance scene?

Exercise walk my dog and chill with my family .. shopping and spending time with loved ones which doesn’t happen very often but i love to see them when I do..

What one thing would you like to do before you die?

err is there normally a list of ten things for that! lol i cant choose but one of them would to see my daughter go to uni!! and go to Africa and work out there as a volunteer i think.. give something back to the spoiled existences that I’ve lived!! err and swim with dolphins !! ahh to many!
Pop quiz time- favourite venue?
I love mambo Ibiza .. and the cross in London!

Worst gig?

Had a few bad ones but don’t want to name venues or names ..sorry! it might be better next time !!!
