Established at The Cross in 2006 the MiMo story begins. Their unique style of progressive house, techno and electro supported by some of worlds most forward thinking DJ’s such as Serge Santiago, Luke Dzerzek, Jim Rivers and Mistress De Funk has established them as the most talked about dance events on the scene today. With a reputation for quality production, a stylish crowd and of course, outstanding electronic music, MiMo has moved swiftly through the ranks of clubland and now their most epic adventure awaits for this special one off event at the newly refurbished and turbo charged Pacha London.

Big In Ibiza Records will join MiMo at Pacha this Friday on this exclusive occasion. With artists such as Mauro Picotto and Jonathan Ulysses already signed to the label, MiMo is proud to announce Big In Ibiza’s latest signing, Chris `MiMo` Jones. Chris will be showcasing his latest up and coming releases, soon to feature on the labels new MiMo mix album.

We caught up with Mimo head honcho Chris Jones to get the low down on his album and Mimo.......

Tell us what’s new in the world of Chris “MiMo” Jones?

Well be a bit of a crazy year so far!! My night MiMo: has be growing from strength to strength! We have had some wicked parties at the Island , 54 Mile End and now with this party at Pacha, its exciting times really!!

I have also been signed to Big In Ibiza and my first release called MiMo and my new mix series Tech Trance Electro Vol. 1 are being released as of late July!!

What have you been up to recently in London and further a field ?

I have had some really interesting bookings this year outside of my London MiMo calander! I have been up to Sankeys in Manchester with Loco Dice, Glitch with the Rejeks crew and have dates at Wax On and Back to Basics later this year! I have also been out to Copenhagen, Denmark and have secured a weekly residency for MiMo: in Ibiza at the exclusive Guarana club! Cant wait to get out there and play in July and August!

So for your Mimo single and Tech Trance Electro vol. 1 release party at pacha on July 11th what can we expect?

Uplifting techy, progressive house music!!!! Im really into uplifting synth sounds at the moment so expect plenty of hands in the air!! I will definitely be showcasing my present release MiMo alongside my future releases and exclusive tracks found on Tech Trance Electro vol. 1 and the Big In Ibiza label.

What’s your favourite track at the moment ?

Ibiza Knights (Feels so good) To be Alive Terrace Dub (Big In Ibiza) has been massive for me at the moment!!

Tell us a bit about your promotion Mimo. How it started etc?

I started MiMo: back in December 2006 and launched it at The Cross with my best friends! The launch was a great success and since that party we have hosted further nights at The Cross ( Including our 1st Birthday), and Turnmills in 2007. In 2008 we lauched our residency at The Island with and hit capacity which was our best party to date! Now with future dates at Pacha, 54 and the Island with can put on diverse parties to cater for all tastes!!!

What`s your favorite club to play in (and why)?

Its got to be The Cross (RIP)!!! I was lucky enough to play in all the rooms at the venue! Each one had its own unique atmosphere which made that place so special! My favourite ever set though was when I headlined the Cocoloco room at the Worlds Biggest club Privilege last summer! The crowd was amazing!

If you could only play one more club ever, what club would it be and what other DJs would be playing?

Definitely Space Ibiza! The Inside terrace is an amazing room! I would have all my MiMo ressies and closest dj buddies on the same line up alongside, Sander Kleinenberg, Sasha and Digweed! Would be a fat night!!!!!

What do you prefer (producing or DJ``ing)?

I love both! They are completely different buzzes! But what is mental is playing your own tracks to a packed venue which is loving it!!

What do you like to do away from dance music?

I like to go fishing ! Its great just to completely relax and turn the phone off so knowone can find me!!!!
