You have so many names you go by, but what is your real name or is that a secret?

If i told you i'd have to kill you.

Firstly could you tell us a bit about the Headliners mix on Azuli?

It's two disks - I wanted to make it like a whole nights clubbing experience so the first disk is the warm up to the second disk, like the warm up DJ and the main slot DJ almost. You can choose which disk to put on depending on your mood. I didn't want the two disks to be the same, also the first disk is something different from what you'd expect which is always a nice surprise.

What were you looking to put across with the mix?

I wanted to do something truly reflective of me and not what people would assume i'd do. I think it's been a while now from my Bodyrox 'Yeah Yeah' time and i've moved on, i wanted to showcase a new sound and show people where i'm at right now.

Is there any studio trickery involved in the process of making the CD or was it a traditional ‘decks and mixer’ affair?

Too much trickery to mention i'm afraid. All i can say is that it's not like mixing in a club.

Is the mix a reflection of what you would hear in a D Ramirez club set?

Disk 2 is for sure. Disk 1 is more how i'd play when i used to have my all night residency and it's the music i really love but don't get the chance to play out often enough.

Do you feel the mix CD still has a place in the modern market with all the free mixes and tracks available on the internet?

Of course, there's always going to be someone who actually wants to buy a proper CD with all the track names and credits and packaging. It's something nice to own and a little piece of history. The free mix from the net is so throwaway, you don't know any of the track names, the quality is often poor, it's not the same. I for sure will always opt for the CD experience but maybe i'd check somebody out before i commit to a purchase.

How would you describe your musical style these days?

I'm more tech-house with bits of minimal and deep house thrown in these days.

How would you assess the dance scene in 2008?

The best it's ever been! I've been through the whole thing and seen different sounds come and go and musically it's as good as it's ever been. People will always want to dance and get wasted, you can't stop that.

What do you have coming up for the rest of the year?

I Have two more singles on Azuli - 'Physiological Rhythms' and 'Reminder Of Jasper'. I've just remixed the new Moby single 'Ooh Yeah' and i have another single which i'm doing the B-Side to now which is as yet un-signed.

How is the djing going? Have you got any tours planned?

I'm just in the middle of the 'Headliners' tour, after that i do a small tour of the states, then a small tour of Brazil then it's Christmas and New Year - Woo HOOO!!

Are you happy with this album?

What kind of question is that - Of course i am!

Which tracks are your favourite tracks on the album and why?

Well, firstly i have four of my own tracks on the album which are my faves but after that there's a guy called Stimming and i have two of his tracks on there which are brilliant! The Slam mix of Radioslave's 'Bell Clap Dance' is also a fave of mine.

What plans do you have for the future?

I want to do an album and i want to take D Ramirez live on tour.
