Joe T. Vannelli once entitled a song the ‘Sweetest Day of May’ - and, looking at our Kinky calendar, we’re sure he meant the 9th of May. It is on THIS day that Kinky Malinki embark on a sun-soaked cruise down the Thames river on their boat party and then gallivant for a little while longer at Pacha London with house music legend, CJ Mackintosh.
Headlining at Pacha will be our own Godfather of House, CJ Mackintosh. The man is still a firm favourite with clubbers across the globe more than 20 years after winning the DMC Championship title and hitting the top of the UK charts with ‘Pump Up The Volume’ in 1987. Then Ministry of Sound had him as their resident, being one of a select few who could master epic 10-hour sets thus confirming his ‘godfather’ status.
These days, his eye for sourcing out new music and hitting clubbers with exactly the right tune at the right time is something that only CJ can do. Mr Mackintosh casts a spell over a room whenever he DJs and creates something that no other DJ can. If you’ve been lucky enough to have populated a club when this legend has been behind the decks you’ll know EXACTLY what we mean.
Now that the clocks have gone forward, the scent of summer is in the air and the temperatures are getting warmer - let Kinky kick off the night with a journey along the Thames. Hundreds of clubbers aboard the Kinky ship, sailing with the sweet sound of house music breezing in their ears. Feel free to roam the upper deck’s saloon which leads out onto the sundeck - perfect for gazing at the night sky and viewing some of London’s most magical sights; most of them spectacularly lit.
Once the boat returns to Temple Pier, we will then disembark and head straight for our exclusive after-party at Pacha London.
